New to TW - Looking for trails in SoCal/SD Area

Hey gents

I am a long time Tacoma owner. Currently own an 07 TRD prerunner. Thing still runs and looks great, but I have finally decided to part ways with it and move on the next generation.

Later this week I'm hoping to close on a new 2017 TRD 4x4, super stoked and cant wait. I love my current truck, but I always regretting not getting the 4x4.

Im looking for some trails in the SoCal/SD area that are fairly easy so I can get a feel for the new truck. Nothing crazy, but something that will let me test out the off road features etc and enjoy the scenery at the same time.

I am fairly new to the SD area (live and work in Carlsbad), but I know a few trails like Cleghorn, have ridden shotgun on Miller Jeep trail a time or two, and been out to El Mirage for a few different events.

Would definitely appreciate any input on some noob terrain in around the SD area for sure.
