New to TW, not to Taco owning.

Hello from Missouri!

I've occasionally come to browse and lurk, and since I am about to buy my 4th Toyota truck I thought I'd make an account. I'm currently the proud owner of a 00 V6 MT AC, but the frame is rusted to the point of needing replacement (conveniently after the dealership near me said it was in great shape and didn't qualify for recall replacement program).

So I'm currently saving my pennies for a '21, but here's my '00. I bought it in 2008, and it was my daily driver for about 5 years, and then I got a job that provided a company vehicle, and it has largely sat in my garage except for when I take it out for....entertainment purposes.

Prior to this I had a 1991 Pickup, an almost identically spec'd SR5 V6 Access Cab, also in red, but that one had a custom interior from the previous owner. I had it for 8 years, until I was the unfortunate collateral damage of some stupid punk running a red light. He smashed into another car, which spun into my truck and smashed up...pretty much the entire right side, and just for good measure wrapped around to smash out the grille and headlights.

My first truck ever was also a Toyota! It was a 85 DLX with that everlasting 22R 4 banger. It was painted light brown with a shit brown stripe down the middle, though you couldn't really tell because it was perennially coated in a thick layer of dust. I loved it. I burnt out the clutch twice in my youthful enthusiasm, and just...battered the shit out of it. I blew out the cab mounts driving through the low water crossing near our house, not expecting the concrete slab to have been pushed 20 feet downstream by the heavy rains the previous night. I once picked a turkey head out of the grille during shop class, and the entire shop class often spent days taking it apart and putting it back together. I eventually sold it to my uncle for the exact amount I needed to pay the sales tax on the 91.

22 years of Toyota ownership, and I have to say these things are tanks. I've hit 11 deer, 5 turkeys, and put nearly 500,000 miles on my 3 trucks. They were all rock solid reliable for me, and I'm hoping that I can extend that to my future truck.
