New to TW

Hello everyone. Daniel, Here.

New to Tacoma World and the Toyota family, therefore, I wanted to introduce myself. I recently traded in a 2006 titan with 265,000 miles on it for approx $0 (lol) and picked up a 2016 Tacoma MGM DCSB. I'm in sales and obviously put high miles on my vehicles so resale, economy, and reliability were high on my priority list.

I have a short list of mod's I'll be doing to the truck but nothing too crazy. It is a 2wd vehicle after all.

Anyways, I've enjoyed the forum so far and I look forward to meeting some of you in the future.

Thanks! Honestly, I was thinking resale when I purchased the truck and I was told MGM was most popular. However, I have no complaints I like it a lot so far.

Purchased in March '16 with 6 miles.. Here we are in mid July and I just rolled 20k. I almost cried haha

Thats some serious miles man. I hope you plan to sell in like a week lol. I got my SR5 in May and i have just over 800 miles.

 

You're right. It is a lot of miles. I'm doing everything I can to pay this truck off within a year or two.

Starting in October I'll be driving 600 miles less a week. Hoping the mileage evens out a bit throughout 2017. I'll probably sell it for a new model in a year or two. Shitty no matter how you look at it haha. Not to mention all the stuff I want to do to the truck.. how do I justify that if I'm just going to sell it in a year or so..

 

Damn...you got nothing for the Titan....!!! I traded my 2006 Taco in Oct on a 2016 and got $14,000 dollars!!
It had 115,000 kms on it...not as much as your Titan, but holy crap man..!

 

Yeah. I negotiated the deal at the end of the month. I could have sold the truck myself but I was ready to be done with it.

The dealer said they gave me $5,000 but we all know they weren't talking real money. I'm thinking they gave me $2k, maybe $3k at most. Regardless, I didn't care. I ordered the Tacoma that day - out the door $25,000. I showed up 3 weeks later and they truck they had still wasn't right. I wanted simple interior.. something easy to get rid of in the future. This truck has red accents on the dash, doors, and red stitching in the black seats. I was hoping for something a little more subtle but I drove the truck home anyway. The red has grown on me and I'm happy with my decision.

Even with the miles this truck has on it now, I'm pretty sure I could get $25,000 for it today.
