    Hey everyone, Happy owner of 17 TRD Sport w/285's ..... been learning about tranny issues. Does everyone agree about the OVTune being the best solution?

    Welcome to the forum. Many have reported that the OVTune improves performance, but before you drop the cash on the tune I'd suggest that you drive it for a couple of thousand miles then decide.

    What tranny issues? Has there been many documented cases of the transmission failing? Cause that would be an issue.

    Thanks, I’ve been experiencing early upshifts with my auto..... feels like it struggles to hold highway speeds. Heard about SSP & OVTune on TacoWorld.... like I said earlier, just had TSB done and it DID make it better.( hope it lasts )

    Welcome. I just applied the OVTune today. Depending on your TCU version, you may already have the upgrade, but the ECU tune makes a big difference in my driving experience. Its an instant change.

    nice truck , tranny shifting issues go away as the ecu collects more data. i traded my 17 in on my 18 last week it had 11k on it and zero shifting or gear searching issues.

    Thanks, I found this truck at a Chevy stealership (traded in?) Previous owner’s wife must have left him when she saw how much he spent on accessories. His loss my gain .

    I would personally say do gears before tune. I have both and the tune really helped but I have been far more satisfied by my gears. But it is also much more expensive. If you want a free solution try putting the truck in ECT PWR or in S mode and leave it in 5th.
