Can you let us know where your SLs were made? USA or Japan?

    Thanks,

    Jay

Does anyone have a US made set of E rated LT265/75R16? The only set I saw here were made in Japan. I ordered a set and stopped to look at them before they put them on my truck and they were the made in Japan ones with shallower sidewall tread. Toyo said the black wall ones would be made in the US, the distributer the shop called said they would be made in the US, but what we got was not made in the US. Doesn't seem like that big of a deal, but when you see one thing and are told the same then get something different it's pretty annoying. The distributer is supposed to be actually going out to the warehouse today to look and see if he can find a US made set for me.

These are USA made E rated 265/70/17 but the sidewall will be the same the USA made 16 E rated...

Taken from post on page 30.

Yeah. All I've seen US made LTs have been 17s. Wondering if they made the 16s in Japan or if there was a mix.
That photo is the sidewall I was expecting/hoping for...
I printed off some of the pics like that to take to the tire shop. At least the local small town shop has been very understanding and helpful.

I don't believe there is a USA made LT265/75R16. Both the OWL and BSW are made in Japan as seen in post #624 (or at least they were at some point and still might be in the future). So Toyo is mistaken saying all BSW are made in USA as written to @huntercole. I'm sure there are many reasons why Toyo might make 1 size somewhere and others elsewhere.

Also, I emailed Toyo about the LT285/75R16 BSW and found out it is made in Japan. That again disproves the comment by Toyo.
I confirmed by another member on here that his LT285/75R16 BSW are made in Japan and have the thinner depth sidewall lug as we already know for tires made in Japan.

So at the end of the day:
If Toyo says any given SL/LT tire is made in Japan, then it will have the thinner sidewall lugs.
    AND
If Toyo says any given SL tire is made in USA, then it will have the thinner sidewall lugs. Someone might prove me wrong showing a USA made SL tire with thick sidewall lugs., but I have doubts on that.
    AND
If Toyo says any given LT tire is made in the USA, then it will have the thicker sidewall lugs.
    AND
Not all BSW tires are made in USA.
    AND
Both sides of the tire for any given SL/LT tire, regardless of where it's made, are the exact same EXCEPT for a small line through the lug that someone thought made them look more aggressive.

I returned mine and am getting something else. I just got off the phone with toyo and they confirmed they could be made in different places and will look different on the sidewall. I told them my issue is that we have no way of knowing which one we're getting and that from their copy and paste email one would assume they're getting a made in the USA tire. I also told them I really didnt care much about the that if the two actually looked the same but they're definitely different. They need to have a different designation or part number on them so you actually know what you're buying.

Installed these last week in 35/11.5r17 C-load. Haven't followed the whole thread, but will comment these are louder on the highway than both KO2s and Wildpeak ATs.

Yassss, please post some pictures of these. Can you also measure the final diameter of them unloaded if possible? Curious what you had to do to fit them regarding trimming. I'm looking to move from my 34/10.5/17 KO2s to these. I think I'll probably need a spacer if I want to keep the stock wheels.

Personally, I went with these because they are brand new and were redeveloped to be better than the highly rated ATIIs they replaced. They obviously benchmarked them against all of the other popular AT tires out already. The AT3Ws and K02s are also highly rated but getting fairly old in their designs.

They are on my Gladiator Mojave, where 35s don’t require trimming. Final diameter as in mounted but not under load of the truck? I need to put my spare back in still so that’s easy enough to do.

Yes sir, unloaded if possible. Also, what's the wheel width on the Gladiator? Just curious.

Also, where did you get them? They aren't even on the Discount Tire website yet. I had to call over there and the guy didn't have them in the system so he's making a personal call to Toyo.

Wheels are 7.5" wide, same as most of the Toyota wheels.

I got them from the usual place to find things when they are not available in stores.
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/4-New-Toyo...1-50-17/383585415858?epid=13039254065&vxp=mtr

They list them, but don't have any in stock. The ebay link above has them in stock ready to ship and are the same price per tire.

@White lightning boosted just put them on his 2nd Gen as well.
