I just got the cooper at3 on my truck. Don’t do anything hard off road, yet. So I can’t speak to them on that. But they are a great mall tire

Reviews say the Cooper AT3 4S is amazing on snow. The Toyo ATIII is now Mud and Snow rated (early gen ATII was not if I read right), but Toyo self-rates the ATIII as 5.0 out of 5.0 on snow. Not sure what that all means, but for all the snow driving I do here at 9,000ft, that criteria is important to me.

FYI Cooper has a $70 rebate on 4 tires that expires 4/20 so I feel I gotta make this choice today! With that, they're about $130 cheaper than the ATIII. Hmmm.

Cooper runs that rebate a lot so I wouldn’t let it persuade you into anything. Also a lot of the time when there is a lul in the manufacturer’s rebates is when discount tire will throw up a $100 flash sale. Every once in a while you can score a rebate and flash sale simultaneously. But a $70 rebate is nothing to get in a rush over. Especially for an all season tire in the spring time.

Ended up calling my favorite tire shop in town and ordering the Toyo ATIII in a 285 70 R17 SL rated tire. I reckon it's the most aggressive 33" AT out there that still weighs under 50 pounds (46 to be exact). Every pound counts climbing hills at 9,000ft, especially un-sprung, rotational mass.

Should be in early next week. I'm stoked!

Make sure you post pictures. I am interested on how aggressive the sl in this size is.

The Cooper AT3 4S is the same weight in this size.

I only got to drive them about 3-4 miles so far. They seem pretty quiet. I'll update once I get them on the freeway.

@Thatbassguy @FirsTaco super important that we get this dialed in. here on the outer banks, it is what was referred to as the "surfers S" by only the most well respected 3rd graders. a couple III's stacked atop one another and connected with horizontal lines, and BOOM, you are a certified shredder

45,000 miles from the stock wranglers WOW.. I’m at 30,000 now & these tires are done.. was gonna go with these AT3 TOYOS but after seeing these in person, I changed my mind.. sidewalls were too weak. want a little more aggressive sidewall.. great tread on these tires though.. can’t go wrong w TOYOS

I'm really curious to hear how these handle the snow. I need new tires this summer and am debating between these and another set of duratracs. Love my duratracs in the snow but these are a very tempting alternative assuming they hook up well.

Me too! It snowed a bit here yesterday but nothing stuck. There's a road up to an unbuilt development that wasn't plowed this winter, but it's melting out fast. Tire shop said it could take up to a week for the tires to arrive but hoping they get there sooner than later so that I can go get stuck!

"Fortunately, we were able to find a small amount of snow-covered trail and highway to give them a test. While not a major winter storm, we did get to experience the great snow traction provided by the A/T III. We can say confidently that the Open Country A/T III will be a fantastic tire for folks who live where it snows for real."

Thank you for the update! I'm glad to hear that!

So far, I'm loving these tires! I've put on some highway miles, and driven around town. They're quiet, but they make a slight high pitched sound mostly noticeable between 50-60 MPH. I don't think I'd notice it with the radio on.

I'm hoping to get them dirty soon!

Threw on a set last week. Night and day difference from being KO2 (E). Toyo with few miles are so much smoother and quieter. Treads are deep, so I think off road will be great also.
