    Pending!
Maybe I can get some help here. I purchased a 2014 TRD Sport that came with stock rims and Adventures w/ kevlar.

This truck will see a fair bit of ice and snow being in Winnipeg, MB. I ice fish a lot.

I've been reading and reading and can't find a clear cut answer. How big can I go without cutting or other mods? And if on the ice, do I want to go larger for more surface contact?

In terms of the tire, I've got my choice down to the AT3's or the K02's. After reading the 1st 10 pages and last 10 pages of this thread, it appears there is a more aggressive AT3 and a less. I want aggressive looking.

I'm leaning towards the Toyo's because they are cheaper and seem to be on par with the K02's.

    Thoughts?

I just spoke to a Toyo Rep -she said they were essentially three sidewalls, P metric, LT, flotation. On each tire there’s two sides one has a line on the tread, But each side wall lug is the same thickness. It is just for two different luxe, they do not consider one side more aggressive. She said on the outside white letter tires, the process to make the white letter, just take away some of the aggressiveness. She said but the black wall side will still have the same thickness as other tires in the same series (P metric, LT etc.). She did agree with me that typically the manufacturing method for outside white letter tires result in them being lighter weight in the same series and size tire in black wall.

265-75-16 or equivalent is the biggest tire you can go stock. I think thats also 265-70-17.

USA made LTs have the thicker sidewall (looks better) over the Japan made SLs. However, the SLs have extra siping which is better in the snow and ice and a longer tread life warranty as well.

Just got a set mounted. I was on Wildpeaks before. No complaints so far. These 35 are lighter than my old 33's too.

I'm 4 months in with mine and I couldn't be more impressed. On stock size 17's (265/65R17) is what they consider an XL so I believe that to be considered a "C"? I can tell you this much, they lost about 1 MPG over my highway treads (90% of my driving is pavement) and they have been dynamite offroad (mostly mud, sand and rocky surfaces). Really good in the rain also and surefooted braking. I thought I'd be giving up a lot to highway tread tires and these ATIII's have proven me wrong. Glad I did my homework on these tires.

As promised and thanks to the member here for pointing out which side of the tire was the more aggressive looking so I made sure those were facing out.

Sorry so dirty but she lives most her life on the dirty side. I went hog scouting at a friend's ranch this morning and hit a few swamp/mud sections. We'll be out there this evening and see if we can't corral one or two.
These are my 4 month old Toyo ATIII's. So far they've exceeded my expectations.

Just mounted some LT265/70R17 E-Rated on a set of TRD Pro 4Runner wheels that I’ve been sitting on for over 2 years (since the 40% off sale). This setup seemed like the best compromise for me. I dig it.

It was the 40% off sale Toyota ran on all TRD parts in April 2019. I bought the wheels then and I’ve just been waiting for my stock tires to wear enough to justify replacing them.

Running a set of 285/70/17, E rated. Previously ran 295/75/16 ATII extremes on an FJ. Less than 1,000 miles on this set so far but I have no doubt I’ll love these just as much if not more that the previous generation. Was able to get them down to 15psi this past weekend and no complaints with the upgraded compound.
