    Hello all,

I just bought a new 2010 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 access cab and I'm having fun learning how everything works! I do have a question though that is kinda irritating. I'm wondering if the 2010 Tacoma's that come with the 6 CD changer radio also come with XM? I've been told by the dealer that no, the XM is Optional even though you have the 6 CD changer. I looked in the 2011 Tacoma brochure and every single one of the options that include the 6 CD changer include an XM radio and a 90 day trial subscription. I could not locate a 2010 Tacoma brochure to check this out so I am relying on the dealers info. My Tacoma does have the xm antenna and wiring but apparently doesn't have the XM receiver installed. Am I being flamboozled? If anyone out there still has a 2010 brochure laying around, I'd sure love to know if this option is supposed to go hand in hand with the 6 CD changer system. Thanks.

I can't remember exactly but I had the same prob with my 08 Dodge. call the dealer or you call xm and they walk you thru on how to identify the receiver device info that the satellite needs in order for you to even connect... some little trick you have to do.. the radio will display a number... try it out I finally got it done...hope this helps.. if you have the sat. antenna on the top of the cab, I'm sure it's satellite ready....

Welcome! New member here too. Just bought my '10 PreRunner SR5 TRD Sport yesterday. I asked the same question at the dealership. XM radio is not standard on the taco, even with most upgrades. You have to pay for the XM receiver as an accessory--some dealerships install and add to local dealer tag. The 6-disc stereo (same as me) has the wiring and the antenna, but as you pointed out, no receiver.

i dont think toyota ever made a 2010 brochure. I requested them before... i have the 07, 09 and 2011 brochure. As if they got cheap about it. You should have the XM for 3 months, I would bitch out for it or should've gotten a 2011, i like the new Grill! :D

Ok, this is an update! I finally got over the shock of the second antenna on the roof...both my wife and brother-in-law thought it looked ok. So, I called Sirius and we finally pushed the right button (Text) on the 6-CD changer to get the rest of the ID # to show up. Sirius was kind enough to give me the 90 trial subscription. So, I called the dealer and told the manager that I was going to accept the Sirius radio. He thanked me and told me that when my 24 month free service was up on the Taco, come to him and he'd give me 5 more free maintenance services for truck. That seems like a pretty good deal...at least he's trying!
