    lift, MT tires...
So I have a 2001 tacoma, I bought a skyjacker 2.5 coil over lift and I was told by several people that I could clear 285/75/16s Ha! As long as I dont drive over any big bumps! So... now what? I have taken as much plastic off as I can. Now I am looking at flared fenders...

    Yeah, I gots boost
Welcome from Bozeman! Find out where you are hitting. There are quite a few 1st gen guys running 33s on a 2.5" lift so it definitely is doable. Hit up the MT thread. There will be at least one of us local to you who could help.

I ran 285s with mid travel for a while. Rubbing very minimal. Switched from 4.5" to 4" bs wheels which helped, and do the pinch weld mod.

Welcome, beware this site consumes time and leads to empty bank accounts ;)

I have a Toytec Ultimate Lift which is between 2.5 - 3"...running 285/75/16, took off mudflaps only...maybe it is your wheels and their offset??? Plenty of clearance for tires here...
