It is 30 minutes east of Pine Valley, and you exit just after the border patrol checkpoint in Jacumba on I-8.

That was the first trail I ever took my Tacoma Off-roading on. I love the area and the huge fantastic granite formations. It really is a wonderful place. Congrats on getting through in 2WD. I honestly didn't think it was possible.

It was a little scary at first. We proceeded down not knowing if our trucks would make it back up. But we did and with little effort! Just took our time and all went well. Cant wait to go back there!:D

I'm ready to go back!!! I couldn't stay very long the first time but it definitely got my blood pumping on a few of the rocky sections. On my way out I talked to the border patrol guy that stopped us on the way in...he was impressed that we made it (he had thought I turned around to avoid getting stuck). Lets get a run going out there, some of the local guys who are comfortable with it. I never thought I'd buy sliders...but this new rocky type of wheeling has got me thinkin....:D

David, Jacumba is a place that you would love. We talked about it briefly in another thread once. The place is suitable for camping and a day/night hike into Valley of the Moon would make it spectacular.

Sure... I have driven through there hundreds of times on my way to Baja or to the desert, below! Never stopped to explore right there, however.
