Spotted in Plano, TX a few miles from Toyota HQ. Truck has quite a presence on the road, looks big.

Looks so much better with the black wheels instead of bronze.

I just wish that snorkel wasn't mandatory...

Noice... I'm in Corinth, I forget about the possibility of seeing new models out by Headquarters.

I'm on the fence. Torn about replacing my 1st Gen. I think I read that the overall dimensions are the same just the wheelbase that changed? I really like the 4 Link... just tired of rear leaf springs. Does the TRD OffRoad get the 4 link? I gotta go look b/c all the extra BS on that Trail whatever is very gaudy.

I wish the TRD Pro seats weren't mandatory, its just another way they can charge you $2-3k more.

I think it's best not to buy the first year of a new release especially with a new engine and drivetrain setup. Usually by the 3rd year or 4th they've got the chinks worked out. Me, as long as the car doesn't depreciate faster than what new payments would cost me I'm going to wait at least til the 2nd-3rd year depending on feedback and a test drive. The SR, SR5 Xtra Cab and PreRunner still come with leaf springs standard. The TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, TRD Pro, Trailhunter and Limited trims have the upgraded 4 link

Looks ok in the picture. The ass end looks good as it's leaving. This model wouldn't have been my first choice anyway. Looks like this is the 6' bed too? Oh and I'm sure someone will come up with a snorkel delete kit.

Deleting the snorkel is enough enough, but simply plugging the hole(s) in the body panel(s) with black plastic parts would probably look terrible, as well.

I'm mostly interested in the Trailhunter's custom OME lift, tires, OBA, inverter, and armor - but may, ultimately, just build up another TRD OR instead. We shall see.

On another note, I really miss Cement gray...lol

Trailhunter. Preferred truck of trust fund kids who recently decided to become "outdoorsy".

Alternative theory: Guys like me who can buy whatever truck they want to buy after 3+ decades of building and wheeling other jeeps and trucks all over the world.

A stock Trailhunter clearly has several useful features that are attractive to anyone who is looking for something new that already has a decent foundation of mods to build from. How many other stock trucks have you purchased with an integrated on-board air system, end-to-end skid plates, quality lift components, and decent looking (plus highly functional!) rails/bumpers straight from the factory? Did I mention that all of those base items are included in the warranty? Yeah, that fact alone is worth a small premium.

I could personally do without the snorkel for my use cases, and I'll definitely choose different rack systems, but that's a separate matter altogether.

Actual "trust fund kids" are rocking fully decked out Sprinter Vans and Raptors for their "outdoorsy" fix.

I do think the overlap between those who spend 50-60k on a new truck and those who actually off road in challenging situations it is pretty slim. And to be fair, overland Tacoma builds that rarely see a fire road are a memes at this point. The TH is badass, but it’s also a Toyotas all inclusive starter kit for Instagram outdoor bros.

"Trailhunter" is the most cringe name for a truck too. Whoever came up that name is either really stupid (like is someone hunting and killing trails? It just sounds goofy) or genius in that it will attract the attention of the Instagram crowd. Even if I had the money to get one, I wouldn't wanna be seen in one.

I like the bronze wheels better. But it still looks great with the black wheels. Home run by Toyota

I am not in the Instagram crowd, or any crowd. That trim ticks a whole lotta boxes for me. Don't care what they call it. I got less time in this world every day and instead of me spending all this time getting the truck the way I want it, Toyota has done most of the work. People undervalue their time.

Edit: In honor of you, I will name it 'My heaping pile of shit'.
