I didn’t buy my truck from this specific dealership it’s a 2016 with 40k miles will it cost me to get them to do the TSB update?

I have a 2016 taco limited. Wondering if I should just buy a shift sense pro seeing that the TSB ends up reverting to shit for a lot of people. Been reading up on the TSB for about a month now and I see a lot from both sides in the forums.

Nothing. It's covered until 80k miles or 96 months.

You took TSB-0062-18 in or was it a different one to get it flashed?

How are you supposed to check the transmission fluid level? I have a 2018 TRD Sport with A/T.

Took mine in for 10k service and they said my tranny needs flashes. 2018 sr5 it hunts gears really bad especially at lower highway speeds such as 55mph and down shifts into 1st hard sometimes when I'm in the city. Hope it works!!

That should take care of the gear hunting. It helped on mine quite a bit. Cruise control even works properly now I noticed on my last trip after having the flash done. The 1st gear clunk is a separate issue tho. There's a thread about it & has been a problem on earlier gens also

My 2018 Tacoma automatic transmission experienced low RPM shifting and was searching for gears constantly. I brought it to the dealer in June and the master mechanic said it was shifting normal. Mine was assembled in March 2018. Brought it back in at 4,000 miles and had them check the tranny again. This time the performed the software upgrade per TSB and finally it is shifting much better. This is how it should have been shifting when I bought the truck.

I just got my 2019 Off-road. My first Tacoma and after 100 miles and 4 days it was started shifting funny and trans fluid was seeping. The dealer topped off the trans fluid to see if it would leak again but so far none they can see. The truck is on lift waiting for to another foreman to figure out the issue. Check engine light is also lit.

Took my '18 TRD Off Road to the dealer today. They did the TSB (attached) and it's WAY better :)

Does the TSB apply to 2019s?

Probably came with it. I have the 062 tsb, but they all have the same ecu calibration numbers so they all are the same.

I'm 99% certain the 19's are born with it already.

I would assume the 19's already programmed with the latest. TSB has been out since July I think

I had my 18 flashed awhile ago & drives a lot better & much better mpg's. Got 24 mpg today 20%city/80%hwy. Pretty happy considering my heavier wheels & tires

If you check the tsb thread, the official tsbs are on the first couple of pages and it states what it applies to and what calibration code the 19's have. The tsb updates to what the 19 should have...

The update seemed like it helped right after it was done, but a few months later it feels like shit again. Below 40 it’s fine, but as soon as it drops into 6 it doesn’t want to let go. When I’m going up a slight grade it bucks a lot until it finally downshifts.

Dealer is ready to open a case with cooperate because they have nothing else to offer as a fix other than driving in ECT.
