I was interested in one... until i saw the price. They are out of their mind asking $105 for a shift knob.

If I were to pay that much on a shift knob it would be a billet aluminum ball. IJS.

Still like the old TRD round shift knob better.

It's what I'm sporting now. I will say I like the way the TRDpro locks into the boot however.

The boot coming to the top was one of the main things I didn't like. I altered my boot so that there is about 5" of the shift lever between it and the knob.

I am hatching a hack in my mind that I think will look good... If it fails I'm making a new shift boot.

Cut the chrome ring off just under the ring, by cutting the fabric just under the ring. Pull up the entire fabric boot and hold it upside down / inside out over the top of the shifter (visualize a funnel). Zip tie the cut section of the fabric tightly to the shifter in a spot about 2" below the top of the shifter. Fold the fabric back down so it is correctly oriented. The zip tie will now be on the inside of the fabric boot and will not be visible, and the fabric will appear to neatly terminate and fold over itself where the chrome ring used to be. Reinstall shift knob and revel in the awesomeness of this cheap mod.

FWIW mine detaches by twisting counter clockwise about a 1/4 turn. It then slides right down, no clicking or snapping of any kind.

I fail to see how it's worth $105.

I think it looks great compared to that stock double ball looking thing.

    stuff
My buddy had to buy a 16 and i keep telling him to wait a year because Toyota was bringing something else out. Just wait one year. But no didnt want to listen. Now the pro comes with the rear power window that he wanted and then the cosmetic upgrades. I just laugh at him and say told you so. Now he is trying to make his truck look like a pro. I did talked him out of the grill and he ended getting a VERY nice grill made by our friend. Witch now I am hating on him for. lol
