I can't fathom why the white car pulled out in front of you. That being said, they were already in the road blocking a lane of traffic, so in future just assume that means they are trying to crash into you. Honestly, in any situation, expect people to do the stupidest thing possible. Even if they don't, you won't be disappointed! Hope the repair/insurance bullshit goes well.:homer:

Clearly she made the traffic violation by failing to yield (physical evidence would prove that), however i'd keep that video to myself. I'm not the first on to say it but I think based on the video the accident could have been avoided and that is the last thing you want an insurance adjuster/investigator to think. I'd let the police report ride as the evidence and not show that video unless it was absolutely imperative. just my .02

Just keep in mind the insurance companies "monday morning armchair quarterback" everything.

I think this guy is armchair quarterbacking. Imagine if he had swerved to the left onto oncoming traffic. Distances and speeds all look much more conquerable on video as opposed to real life.

Can you post the info on the dash cam you have? The video quality is decent.

Thats exactly what i am doing, which is what the insurance company is going to do. Therefore proving my point.

Swerving into oncoming traffic would be stupid, Distances and speeds do look more conquerable on video vs real life...again which is why i said don't show the video.

From looking at it I see multiple seconds which I see the cars pulling out and no braking, but in real life he could have been looking to the left or to the right, changing the radio station, looking at the dash who knows...we know what is going to happen in the video and have the luxury to review it multiple times and see "what could have been done".

Reading over some of the negative comments on here and I am reminded why I don't post personal situations on the internet, people try to turn against you, even here on TW.

Good luck on your repair, Hopefully the body shop can color match correctly.
I'm super OCD about color still matching after body work.

In all fairness, it could have been easily avoided. Simply don't leave the garage.

He mentioned it on post#1 G1W. Those are inexpensive dash cams with great video quality for their price. I have the G1WH on my Highlander and Taco. You can check out the reviews on you tube.

Good thing you got the incident on dashcam as that should help determine who's "at fault" which obviously it was the white car, but side impact collisions are difficult to tell sometimes. I'm very surprised your driver door wouldn't open with such minimal damage...

They are worth the $30-50+ you can find them for on eBay. I have one of the G1W-Cs myself. Happy with the quality and filming once I got the crap chinese instructions figured out!

You can also just use an app onyour phone. For a while I had my old iPhone 4S mounted to the windshield with just a cam app on it. example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZL-9BAALrv8

Not a thing to worry about as far as liability goes. It's not your job to avoid idiots and you had two of them cut in front of you. The one making the left turn from the opposite direction is lucky you didn't hit him too. The other insurance company, as soon as they talk to both drivers, should have no issue handling your damages... I sure wouldn't and I've been handling auto claims for over a decade.

If you go to Amazon there is a company called spy tec. It is a US based company and the instruction that comes with the dash cam is way easier to understand than the ones that come from Hongkong. Although they are all made in China. I have two of those from both companies but I heard the ones from spy tec are the genuine ones. As I have said google it or search it on you tube.
