That is what happened to me when 2 deer ran into the side of a '91 Ford Ranger I use to own. Body shop done a great job with the paint and body work but I just never felt the same about my Ranger knowing she had been damaged.

If that would of happened to me I would of had the cab roof sprayed with Line-X Body Armour. Would not have to bother waxing it! I have been thinking about getting mine along with the hood done. Got a quote of $550.00 to $675.00 to do both.

Well, if you can afford it, then you should off load it. What will you get next?

Yes, that sucks, but I wouldn't call these truck issues. From your earlier posts, you made it seem like you really didn't like the truck for what it is.

You don't have to buy a older truck, U-Haul rents full size pick-ups now if you need to haul something. I have been fighting the urge not to trade my paid off Tacoma in myself. (Maybe when the warranty runs out) Mazda CX-5 is what I would get.

Maybe you need to adjust your expectations from the truck. The Tacoma is popular not because it does anything exceptional. It's just a good all around mid size truck.

Cost is relative. Expectations are relative. 50K CDN, is 38K USD. You know the average cost for a new car is 33K USD?

The Tacoma is not expensive for what you're getting. It's a good reliable truck that will last for a long time (based on history) *and* hold it's value.

If you're coming from a luxury car or sports car, then yeah - the Tacoma may not fit the bill for you, and again -- need to adjust your expectations. I use my Tacoma to haul my motorcycles around to race tracks - so far, it has exceeded my expectations.

I would be surprised at the struggling. The truck makes all it's power at high RPMs, so maybe that's something you need to get used to--if you want power, you need to sit at high RPMs. Can't really compare the ecoboost motor since it's a different tool for a different job. The F150 is a full sized truck, so unless you were looking at both at the same time, not really the same comparison. For me, I would not want to drive a full size truck as my DD, and resale value is important to me.

If I were you, and really unhappy with my purchase, i'd just take the L and move on. Life is too short to not drive what makes you happy. Good luck!

At the very least what you have going for you is that the Tacoma will retain it's value very well!

I'm sure you will be able to better decide once you get it back. It could look better than new and maybe you will have all this bad luck behind you..My truck was in the shop 4 times in the first 3wks. All items fixed and now everything seems fine. I'm hoping its all behind me now too...

Dont want to be mean but these are things that should be noted on the sales floor. I can see finding little things down the road, but what you mention is something that you should realize right before signing anything. I new what I was getting in to before driving away from the dealer. When I buy cars I walk in with a check list of what I want, because I know with all the overwhelming associated in buying a new car is easy to forget things that I really want in my car/truck.
Whatever you end up doing good luck.

The Tacoma is absolutely grossly over priced for what you get. Especially the 3rd Gens.

I can get a really nice F150 with ten times the features a Tacoma has, and it will last just as long. Not only that but my Fords don't have a bunch of unfixed manufacturer problems either like screwed up fuel pumps, shitty leaf springs, axle wrap, and hard shifting transmissions.

I like my Taco but the price was steep and its not the same quality as my Ford.

Toyota has NO magical powers when it comes to longevity. Most cars today can last around 300k miles.

I felt the exact same. I paid almost $50k (Canada) and literally was disappointed on the drive home. It was that fast. The interior is appalling for the price and in a few years the 3rd gen will seem archaic to how fast cars are changing today. Go sit in a new F150 for less money and it's far more impressive. Better drive train and yes it will last a long time. Most people today don't keep a vehicle 20 years anyways.
