2014 Double Cab Long Bed TRD Sport
    Hi all,

Been lurking here for a bit learning about my options and finally picked up a new 2014 Double Cab Long Bed TRD Sport with a Leer 122 shell (pic attached, dirt and all). Like a lot of folks have mentioned here before, the 122 is a little goofy looking, but I really wanted the extra height to build a platform for camping (which is why I got the truck in the first place). I opted for no bay windows -- just a long, vented windoor -- and added the adventure sports package. I think the long window takes some of the ugly out of the 122, and -- so far -- I'm really pleased with the overall setup and the truck itself.

Since I had a hard time finding this information, I thought I'd make a contribution with my initial post and provide height info for the Leer 122 when placed on a 2nd Generation Tacoma. My max height from bed ridge to ceiling is about 44.5". The roof of the 122 slopes, so it's closer to 42 or so nearer the cab. From the bed ridge to the top of the door opening is 41". In comparison (based on info from another post on TW), the Leer 180 has a maximum height of 41" and a door height of 37". I'm happy I went for the extra height even if the lines on the 122 are a bit funky.

After I get my platform built, my next plan is a smallish lift (2"??) and, ultimately, some BFGs or other all terrain tires. Thanks to all for the many posts that helped me in making my purchase and cheers!

Oh, and I'm ditching those tube steps! Not my thing.

Looks good and functional! I just picked up a DCSB Sport yesterday. Snugtop Rebel is scheduled to be here on Thursday - can't wait to get the top on. I'm also planning on doing a 2 inch lift. Already replaced the stock tires with Nitto Terra Grapplers in 265/70/17 and I really like them so far. Good luck with your camping build!

Sweet shell! I'm thinking about the 122, but couldn't find any photos of it without the bay window, anyway you could post a couple side view photos of the truck?

@shoptech... here you go! I was a little uncertain about whether I'd made the right decision to go with windoors, but after a camping trip last weekend, I'm sold! Very handy for reaching stuff up near the cab.
