So, no, I don't have my owners man in front of me but was just wondering in bed last night (and Ill check it when I get home), but I was wondering about an early oil change for the break in? I have about 575 miles now. Any thoughts?

    thanks!

    Do dents and scratches count?
Most people wait for the regularly scheduled interval (5000mi). I plan on doing mine at 2500miles as I just don't feel comfortable with waiting. The manual does not call for an early oil change. I don't like the idea of going 5000miles on conventional oil to begin with. I think I will do 3500-4000 mile changes after my initial 2500.

There's generally no need to on modern engines. You can to make you feel good, but no need to. One could consider the same for the trans., diff., and other components but at some point you'd be considered an extremist.

I am still pretty old school on my beliefs. I like to do an oil change within the first 500 miles just to get anything out that might be floating around from manufacturing. After that I go the regular intervals. What is an extra $30 for a little peace of mind?
