One of those stores freshly smoked meats while they take a nap after coming off the smoker, that's my favorite cooler by far.

The intervals have gotten longer because better oils further reduce (not eliminate) engine wear on its components. This may allow for closer more ideal tolerances that increase power and fuel efficiency, which is a win win in my book.

But the contaminate are still accumulating anytime combustion is occurring at about the same rate as before inside the engine, where they settle and accumulate and in due time can turn into damaging sludge.

It's similar to when you burn wood, you get combustion by-products (ash) from the combustion.

it’s unavoidable and you have to eventually clean your fire pit and chimney. But regardless of the wood used, the chimney and pit ashes still needs to be cleaned and collected.

So maybe I just want to keep my fire place cleaner, and avoid an eventual disaster, if that makes any sense?? IDK but maybe that’s just me.

Oh, and one more thing, If you’re going to change the filter, I recommend avoiding a dry start by pre-filling the oil cap, and then slowly drop the filter element to reduce a dry star engine wear.

    Good job!

    Cheers!

No they don’t. Fuel vendor specifications have increased, injector spray patterns have been optimized, ignition timing has become incredibly sophisticated, swirl patters have be introduced into the airflow, air filters have gotten better, spark plugs are more advanced, and the correct mixture of air and fuel for minimum pollutants, and maximum burn, is closely regulated.

Engines are burning cleaner than ever. The rate of accumulation of contaminants in the oil is dramatically reduced, hence sensible oil change intervals, like 10k

I want to throw something out here while this thread is still going. Why is everyone talking about dry starts? You are not going to get a dry start on an oil change unless you pull the plug and come back a week later to put oil back in. When you drain the oil, there is still oil on/in the bearings, journals, galleys and pump. It really does not matter if you pre fill the filter or not, there will still be some air pockets introduced but no harm because the moving parts still have lubrication on them. So, unless you guys are dropping the pan and flushing the oil pump, a dry start is not a thing on a regular oil change.
    Let the storm begin:crapstorm:

But that’s not the narrative here. How dare you! We are supposed to be smarter than Toyota, and our neighbors.

Quaker State 10W30 Dino, for engine life. All other choices are part of a conspiracy by Toyota to fuck you over.

Rotella light truck because it's 21 and change for 5 quarts and they have a 10 dollar rebate on them. Because it's so affordably cheap I change it daily.
