This works fine and sometimes makes things last longer. And lubricants are expensive.

No offense taken brah, math and science don't lie no grasping required its not that complicated

That’s like saying you’re only going to drive 3500k miles instead of 5500k or two logs vs three (one less room to heat) so no.
    Less btu’s=Less ash, yes.

Here’s the thing with carburetor vs fuel injection, it does not change the air to fuel ratio for a more ideal combustion.

But if you believe it does, please show me the science.

All that fuel injection does is that it keeps the fuel delivery at a more constantly accurate 14.7:1 ratio that we need for more efficient combustion. And that's a fact.
But you are still only burning 20-30% of the fuel, so you still get the same amount of the resulting by-product that needs to be cleaned out by changing the oil just like in the old days. and that's a science.

That said, because newer oils are much better and engines are better made with better tolerances, it may last longer if you don’t change it than with the older designs.

I normally just need a beer after work, but here I need a double scotch whisky and its not even Friday!

    Hope that helps

Tighter tolerances on cylinders and pistons reduces blow by, pushing more out the exhaust and less into your oil. Synthetic with modern additives is also better at dealing with contaminants. You're acting like 100% of fuel combustion is pumped straight in to the oil, and there's nothing you can do to reduce it, and there have been zero advancements in oil in the last 30 years.

We aren't talking about thermal efficiency, we are talking about how complete the combustion is, at what temperatures, how fast, etc. All of those things have an effect on the combustion products. With better engine controls, we have better control over combustion, and can make it cleaner and more complete.

It's sorta like when you run an engine rich and it puffs out nasty black smoke, but when you get it running at the proper stoichiometric ratio, it burns cleanly - only more subtle. Same fuel, way different results.

I collect them in a basket and wring them out over a funnel into my engine. Best lubricant nature ever created.

The current Camry 4 cylinder has used 0/16 for two and a half years now.

The more recently introduced RAV4 and Corolla now use it as well

Wouldn't tighter tolerances in the cylinder bore cause more metal to metal contact? Also modern additives in synthetics cannot magically break down metal particles. Yes synthetics might be more efficient at combating sludge and carbon, but not solid matter like sand, dirt, metal particles.

No, but modern oil filters magically trap solid matter like sand, dirt and metal almost immediately.

As far as combustion efficiency goes, yes, that’s pretty much on target.
    Stick around :D

We don’t have better control over combustion, it’s still only at 20-30% efficiency with 70-80% still going as waste or by-products as before. Easy to look it up.

When you say “we have better control over combustion” you are only supplying the optimal amount of air to fuel or 14.7:1 ratio because anything less hurts performance and anything more is waste. That would also be like saying a fire log is going to leave less ash because it is getting the right amount of air during combustion.
That’s never going to happen, combustion efficiency as of this moment is what it is and there’s nothing we can do, except get it the right amount of air/fuel ratio so it burns to its most efficient. But I guarantee you will still have about the same by-products left as before.

That said and combustion being what it is, what we do with the energy produced is what has changed.

We insulate homes better, and we go farther with the automobile by using better tires (radial) than before, we produce more power from the same combustion energy with better lubrication and better tolerances so we go farther with the same gallon.
But that same gallon still leaves behind the same amount of waste behind as by-products of un-burned fuel

Your mental model of what's going on in there is entirely too simplistic. It is far more complicated than burn gas, get heat. But we've all tried, and failed. Oh well.

You want me to go the maximum amount allowed (10k miles) before I change my oil I know, but I won't tow to the limit of 6400lbs either if it's any consolation, so there's that

    Cheers
