So I picked up my brand new TRD OR two weeks ago today, but so far it’s been in the shop for the same amount of time that I’ve had it. I had it in my possession for a week. 6 days into ownership the TPMS decided that it didn’t want to read any of the tire pressures (reset multiple times to no avail), then the following day it decided to work, but a check engine light kicked on and the truck went into limp mode.. with just over 300 miles on the truck, I dropped it off & was told that it would be a MAX of two days for the fix.. it’s been at the dealership for a week now with a bad knock sensor. The dealership has been taking their time at fixing it, but they promised that it will be back together and ready Monday (we’ll see). At this point it’s just pretty aggregating, but I absolutely love the truck otherwise.

Did anyone else have any issues with their brand new vehicle or is this just my luck? Lol C4C2A65D-BA53-4D0B-9930-0F7D5F21860A.jpg B5DA8363-9047-4CD1-A49C-51C82134FD7A.jpg29899EC8-AAAD-499C-BC68-0A5B794738A5.jpg

I just did a quick search and apparently it is. I didn’t read into it a whole lot so idk what qualifies it as a “lemon” but I feel like it’s off to a pretty good start

    Oh look, another mod....
For the Lemon Laws to apply it has to be three consecutive issues that are documented, within a 1yr time span. This is his first issue and the dealership is addressing it. They're probably backed up like every other dealership in America right now. Be patient.

OP: Document the time, date, and details of this visit in case you have to go the route of Lemon Law.

I believe there is also a time component...something like a month out of service in the first year.

Curious what upgrades did you do to the truck? Electrical? Or just cosmetic?

So far only the led license plate lights that came with the rear bumper.

The LED bars & winch aren’t currently hooked up. I want some clean OEM style switches for the light bars so I haven't messed with those yet. I hooked the winch up for a few minutes to pull the rope tight against the fairlead, but then disconnected it again to route the cables differently, but then something came up and I never got back around to it.

Trying my best lol. It wouldn’t bother me as much had they not told me it would only take a day to fix if they had the part, and two if they had to order it.. called them three days after and they hadn’t looked at it yet. Also they don’t do loaner vehicles but they “have rentals”.. pfft no thanks lol. Surely this is just a fluke though.. I seriously doubt the lemon route will have to be taken :bananadead:

Brought my Sport home May 14, 2021 and she's got just over 12K miles with no issues.

I've changed the headlights to OEM LEDs, got a vintage grill w/garnish/amber raptor lights, tailgate lock, bed lights, and interior LEDs as well as LED license plate lights. No TSS or electrical issues.

I've also updated to OTT Tune 8.0 (Lite/Mild) with Gear Lock. I've been very fortunate and have enjoyed my Taco since day one.

Hope things get better for you.

Here in connecticut a lemon is considered basically the same. Its any issue related to safety that can't be fixed within 2 years or 24k miles from purchase.

The only issue I’ve ever had with my 2020 OR is a squeak from the rear driver-side drum. Dealer fixed it by resurfacing the rotor. A few months later, the squeak is right back.

“Aggregating?” Lol. But ya I feel for ya. I can say never had issues like that on any of my 13 Tacos and majority turd gens, my 2022 has been just like the rest a month in and 1.5k miles. Sorry to hear, they are reliable and worth it promise.

Hey did you get it at Lerry M or Santa Fe? If it's Lerry M you should run. And fast. They are probably the worst toyota dealership in our region. Santa Fe has an excellent shop. They can be trusted to fix the original problems.

This was "random convergence " the truck will be fine once the original problem is solved. In modern manufacturing of something as complicated as a truck bad karma or "lemons" are a human experience designed to help us rationalize random events...

Read some Kant. He was really into this sort of philosophy

Far out guess would be the led lights messing out the electricals or rodent damage
