I recently got a 2015 TRD Sport. About 1000 miles on it. It consistently makes a noise after I back out of my driveway then start moving forward. As I start to move forward I hear a kind of a squishy crunch from the passenger side. It will only do it once. If I stop, back up and go forward again it does not make the noise. When I leave from work at the end of the day I get the same results. Talking to someone with an 08 TRD Sport he said that his truck made a similar noise. He said that it went away after new brakes at about 100k miles. Not sure if he had the front or back brakes done or why he drove 100k miles without getting it looked at? Anyone else had this problem?

Without hearing it I can only assume, but you do know that the ABS pump will cycle on each initial startup when you go into forward, and it will only do it once. It does it at 4mph if I recall correctly. If this is what you are hearing, it is normal.

I suggest that you pull out your manual and look up the ABS section for an explanation.

    back to bone stock.
ding ding!! mine does it! mine sounds like a "humph". my wife and i are so used to it, we can usually mimic it with our voices and time it exactly with the truck..it is that predictable.

the owners manual talks about it. hotrod hit the nail on the head. the OM doesnt describe the noise but states that there IS a noise and it is normal. my friends tacoma, you can barely hear it. mine humphs pretty loudly. relatively loudly.
