Thanks DeepFried. Frame on body trucks are a new topic for me. Living in FL, I've never worried about rust. Ever. For a $40k truck, I'm hoping this baby will last me at least a decade barring all accidents and unforeseen forces of nature. I've always been meticulous about mechanical maintenance on my vehicles and this was just an added layer of stress when I climbed down there.

I started wiping down the frame with a wet rag, and in a way, I wonder if I'm doing more harm than good to the frame because I'm introducing more water and oxygen (the cause of rust) to the already dried murky water spots.

All same here, bought my first truck under a year ago prior to that I drove a 2 door Saturn I got when I was 18 finally a needed repair costing more then the value of the car led me to my dreamy Tacoma.

I wouldn’t worry about wiping/ spraying it causing rust… it’s going to get wet when it rains anyway.

I plan to keep this truck till it’s scrap.

X2, just remember to peek under your truck after you rinse. Mud and guts tend to accumulate in crevices that the water broom won't reach.

Cmon man, let us Floridians bomb through the mud in peace.
