Picked up the 18 OR a few months ago!
All excited first snow and now I gotta park it till the dealer can get it in. PCS light is on so I called dealership can’t get me in for like a week!
I rented a new Tacoma from them until they can look at it.

Congrats. Have you made sure the sensor is clean on the PCS? Dirt, Road Salt, Etc?

Can't the PCS be disabled? Then drive it till the shop is ready.

We didn’t get shit I didn’t even use 4wheel. Wasn’t bad at all. Can’t say but the truck didn’t have much snow stuck to it. It’s at the dealership now so I can’t go look.

I bet there was dirt, snow, or mud covering the sensor. I've never managed to drive my truck in the snow without the PCS sensor getting obstructed and turning on a dash light. Now I just turn the system off when I'm in the snow.

So it’s gonna happen? How do I turn it off? Too much tech crap for me.

Lol keep until next week means it sits in the lot until Wednesday when a tech starts it and says "nope no light". I'd go get my truck back.

And I'm damn happy not to have a nose full of sensors.

You go through the menus on the dash with the side buttons on your steering wheel, find this menu and then turn it off. I think it remembers your settings the next time you start your car, but that might be a feature you have to enable in Techstream, I can't remember.

If you are paying for a rental, go get your truck. Between that and the Windex, you are going to have a pretty steep bill.

Dude every morning when I first start my truck when it has frost on it my PCS light turns on until the frost thaws….this is in Alabama. You are making a non-issue into an issue.

Hot/cold temperatures, snow, ice, dirt, dust, and other stuff will cause the PCS to act up. If the light temperately appears (10-15 minutes) then its not an issue with the sensor, its an issue with the garnish (most likely dirty). If the light is permanent then there is an issue with the sensor or the wireharness.

Edit: if the light is permanent you WILL get a warning notification telling you to visit the dealer

I'm confused. Maybe I'm just being dumb but why would you have to park your truck and not drive it because the pre-collision system isn't fuctioning?

It’s all good not parked didn’t go to dealer.
    Sitting in my garage.
But it didn’t take much snow at all on the garnish sensor cover to disable it.
When the light came on yesterday morning I knew what was going on.
    It was a Friday

Sensors are the worst thing, since plastic bumpers... Turn that crap off and drive it like it's supossed to be driven in the snow, rain, trails, whatever.....
