New truck - what parts should I order from Toyota?

I have confirmation (real confirmation this time) on my new truck and an estimated delivery date. Part of the deal is I can order any parts I want from the parts department at 10% over dealer cost. The truck is a TRD Off Road, Access Cab. I've been lurking here for a couple of months now so already have a sizable list but I want to get everything up front. I already plan on getting the bed mat, header rail, tailgate lock, some spare hinge covers, new 4runner bolts for the front shocks, splash guards, door sill protectors, and a bunch of filters and drain plug gaskets. I think I'm going to do the diff breather mod as during spring I literally have to drive through 18" of water for a few days to make it to and from the house. It may not be necessary but it's cheap and couldn't hurt.

What else am I missing (or... how stupid are any of the items above)?

    tnx!

Doesn't the tailgate have a lock already? My SR5 does.

As far as major mods I'd run it stock for a few 1000 miles first. If something does go amiss you won't know if it was due to some
initial issue or something related to the mod.

You're gonna enjoy that ride - AC Cab Rules!

just FYI - oem bed mats for long beds have been on national backorder for the past month or so with no ETA. i placed an order and they asked if i wanted to be put on a waitlist, which had close to 600 people already.

I'm talking about the automatic lock so it locks and unlocks with the remote instead of having to use the key. I'll be hauling about 10 to 20k worth of gear on weekends and sometimes I need to leave it in the bed while I'm at the office. A manual key certainly works, but I'm lazy... and forgetful.

I bought a horse stall mat that works well. had to trim it up but for $50 works great for me then the $300 plus.

I had bed lights installed at build (covered under warranty, about the same price as DIY using all OEM parts).
I'm liking those rims. I need to think about that!
I'm doing a complete debadge and decal removal. Otherwise, I would definitely do this. Not a big fan of Chrome unless it's on something pre-'50s.

    Tnx!

Most of that stuff can be bought a lot cheaper elsewhere even with the discount.

Wow! I don't know why in all reality that these trucks just don't come from the factory with the rubber bed mat. It's a must have if you don't want shit sliding around and the prospect of breaking your neck when back there.

I'd been searching online and found a few dealers with that stuff pretty cheap. He said the 10% over dealer cost would beat most if not all of those prices. None of it is really high ticket stuff so hopefully shouldn't be a massive margin of difference. That being said, if you know which things I should remove from the list, please let me know..

    Tnx!

Rims and chrome overlay are not everyone's flavor. Just put them on the list in case you were interested. If you do Rims either get the 2020 (part number I listed) or read the fitment issues threads on the 2021+ model and decide if the hassle is worth it. The new style is not a guaranteed fit without modification.

Just my opinion but for a $40k+ new truck the oem bed mat looks and fits so much nicer. The wait is worth it and some dealers have them in stock.

I edited comment #14 because I'm not sure if the OEM TRD lift works with AC's or not.
