Hey all, just purchased my first Tacoma the first week of August. I already have 5,200 miles on it! Access cab, 4cyl, 5-speed, 4x4, SR5. Love the truck so far, I have been averaging 20+ MPG since I have owned it. First pic is when I bought it new with 26 miles:

First thing I did (and first thing I used this site for) was to install the Kobalt tool box. Yes I did it in Lowe's parking lot.

Next thing I did was order a Curt trailer hitch from etrailer - $200 shipped in 2 days with light adapter.

Next I found a topper in Nashville for $400. Leer, with Yakima rack and keys for both the rack and the topper. Matches perfectly. Brake light and dome light work great.

And now I have been thinking about this:

Owner says it only weighs 900lbs! Tell me I shouldn't...

Future mods I want to include are CB radio, fog lights, heated mirrors (I mean really! My '04 Tribute had them!), Possibly Colorado 3rd brake light, and some wheels (black maybe?)

I downsized the pictures, still big... :(

    Okay...You shouldn't!

Lets assume the owner is correct and the camper weighs 900lbs. That only leaves 100lbs available for additional carrying. I'm going to guess that you weigh more than 100lbs, so you are over the carrying capacity of the truck and you haven't added the needed beer and canned chilli for the camping trip. You might be better with something like this:

I know I shouldn't. Ideally I could find one that is stripped out, and lighter. Really like the idea of taking a camper and pulling a boat...

Does the tool box fit underneath your shell?
