At least the CPS/CPK is an easy fix! And if that is the cause of the issue a new CPK will fix it 100% unlike another TSB we know of... haha

I have been wanting to try premium as it feels like I have a stutter at low RPM digs. I have been using Safeway regular since day one which probably isn't the best. Unfortunately Oregon doesn't have the cheapest gas out there, but that isn't much of an excuse not to try it. I should just go to Pacific Pride and fill up on clear go go juice.

True. If the CPS is it then I’ll get it fixed and have an issue free truck. Mine has been great so far but for whatever reason the wife and kids’ cars have been hit with some issues and all of them were bought new and are still like new. Crappy car spring so far....

Hmm,the dealer told me 3-6 months for leaf spring parts to arrive...maybe I should try and get this howl sound deleted at the same time.. so loud leaf springs for maybe a year before they fix it,not happy about that.

You should have an answer within 2 tanks of premium fill ups. I can usually tell a difference right away, like within 50 miles. In my truck it feels like the road is bumpy it's so bad on regular. Smooth as silk on premium. I have not tried changing the cpk, but I should.

Seems like the car industry as a whole is pulling a 2003-2009 GM saying "buy our cheapest-to-produce-possible shit because we tell you to"

Except Mazda - they actually appreciate what cars are supposed to be. If you don't believe me, go drive one.

Picking up my GTI tomorrow and then putting our Yukon XL in the shop after getting our CX5 back. All of our cars are 16 or newer. Only our Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk has been completely trouble free.

Our Mazda is a blast to drive but has had at least 6 or more recalls and several mechanical issues to include a heater core twice and several other things all in the first 20k miles. I will Lemon Law it on the next repair attempt.

That’s exactly how I would describe it. It feels like the road gets bumpy at times especially under light load. If I give it enough gas to downshift it goes away in the higher rpms.

I've said in other threads that I wish the Tacoma powertrain was half as refined as the new Mazda Skyactive turbo 4 cylinder automatics. Those things are set up absolutely perfect. Everyone should go drive one and see how smooth they are. If they made a Tacoma sized pickup, it would be extremely tempting to go that route. The engine/trans combo and tuning are 150% perfect and seamless. Good power, good torque, transmission shifting is insanely fast and smooth. When you put the auto into manual shift mode, it actually lets you manually shift unlike the Tacoma crap S-mode.

As far as the rust comment, my 2017 Tacoma frame already has a bunch of rust all over the place. Not happy about that at all.

I've driven the skyactive setup you described, it is nice. I ended up with a gti for various reasons. As for the rest, sucks you have rust on your frame, but it's probably just surface rust. I see really new Mazdas around here with rotten wheel wells. There is no excuse for that in todays day and age.

Not sure there is much of a difference. I'll know better when I head down the hill to work tomorrow.

How much have you driven it? In my experience, the difference is quite noticeable immediately.

The first thing I noticed was silence, apart from an ever so slight noise at 59.

Let us know how it goes tomorrow, but it sounds like you are in the "fail" column right now.
