The programming for the 2019 included several minor changes beyond those made in TSB6218, so I'd expect the 2020 to have a few small tweaks, as well. They're chasing their tails, though, as the stock programming on our transmission is just pure fucking garbage. They can only do so much to polish that turd without starting over from scratch... which is exactly what Mat decided to do with OVtune 2.0.

Interesting that the 19/20 might have different transmission tuning than even the TSB had (unless he didn't phrase that correctly or is just wrong). Makes me wonder if that's why the shifting in this truck hasn't bothered me in the slightest.

I have a 17 with an update and it didnt bother me before or after the update

edit: I should clarify, after the update it was actually worse(relearning period) but now 4k miles later seems fine.

Yeah I don't doubt it, but I can't help but notice all the incessant complaining about the transmission shifting on this forum.

I have an 18 OR DCSB. Took it in last week for the TSB on the transmission. I'm not sure of the exact update, but I can look at my receipt if needed. The erratic searching for gears was driving me crazy. After the update it is night and day difference. The transmission actually feels like a truck transmission. My wife drove it and asked if I added some kind of programmer to the truck. I was considering getting OV tune, but will probably not worry about it now. I've owned a 1st Gen, second gen and now a 3rd gen. I think now with this update the 3rd gen is by far my favorite. If you have not gotten the TSB update go demand it be done.

Just hitting 6k miles, not nearly as frustrated anymore. Also, my wife put on the 1st 3k miles. Guess it is learning..

Having read a lot of patent material on Toyota transmission and engine technology, it's pretty obvious they use copy/pasta engineering.

My 2019 powertrain is significantly better performing than my 2016 with all tsb’s applied. I actually didn’t have a problem with the way my 2016 performed.

My 2019 hasn't exhibited any "hunting" since I've gotten it. Sure it took a bit for the transmission to learn to my driving style but I have no real concerns, especially on the highway.
