New to forum but not Tacoma’s. Have a 2013 2.7 and just had the 90k service done at the dealer. Ran fine to home 35 miles. Got up next morning, drove down the drive and check engine/trac off lights come on with slooow acceleration. I know about the air pump from reading forums

My question is a best guess 1) something the dealer did during the 90k ream or 2) coincidence

    If #1 any guesses?

BTW it ran fine before the service...no issues at all

Have you looked at the system?
    Check the codes?

If it is the Secondary Air Injection System, Maybe they inadvertently left a vacuum hose off the Switching valve or pump. Check the wiring & the connectors.

Checked under the hood but can’t see anything that’s worked loose. I suspect, since it ran ok for the 35 miles home and if it’s not something unrelated, that there’s a switch connection that they didn’t snap closed. Hoping anyway.

I live in the country so anything is a pain to do. After holiday I’ll try to get into town to get the codes checked. Given the sluggish throttle I don’t want to risk breakdown....no tow readily available so would be expensive.

Toyota said Thursday was as soon as they could get to it despite the big dollars (for me) I spent with them on Friday!

As a side note if it were that air induction pump thing and Toyota appears to have extended the warranty on the 2012s I wondered if they would for a 2013?

As my wife says “ you’re old and you worry about things to worry about”...ha! But I’ll fool her...when I die and she sells all my stuff for what I told her I paid for it!

    Thanks

    Try this.

Disconnect the negative battery terminal for a few minutes to reset the CEL codes. Then drive it to see if the performance improves.

Went back to the dealer to let Egor take a another look at it. 35-40 mph up even the littlest hills! Glad I can’t read lips but did get some interesting hand signals...Ha!

BTW “a vacuum line popped off” according to the service rep but another way of saying it is he forgot to tighten the vacuum line!

    Thanks for your help!
