You are also wrong about the history of the push button autos. They also could only be gear limited. YOU should “do your research” before posting fake news.

I have a dealer looking for a 2018 manual 3.5. The sales manager acted like I was retarded. He didn't even know they made them in manual and told me it was impossible to get one.

Lol, yeah that's bullshit. He just wanted a quick sale. Plenty of autos around.

Just be aware that V6 M/T are limited in which trim/cab/box configs you can get.

Unfortunately, any DCLB is a nogo with M/T.

I though manual mode meant..well manual mode. I didn't think it would still start in first cause my dad's Chevy starts in whatever gear is on the display

The closest I've seen to what you're describing in a truck was the "2" functionality in a Chevy Cheyenne 4X4 I once had. If you put it in 2, the truck would start in that gear. It also had a 5.7 V8 (350 TBI) so torque was not a problem!

Stocklocker is right, I just went and drove it, it will only start as high as 3rd. It won't let you select 4th, 5th, or 6th until after 35 mph. He was right, I was less right !

I got a TRD Offroad manual in Texas and I know Redbeard did as well. I've documented my process here before but it was pretty funny.

-Select exactly what you want on Truecar.com. It spit out prices that were pretty good (less than $500 over invoice).

-Might want to use a throwaway email because you'll get lots of email from dealers. They were all computer generated. I went and saw a few dealers and they were only interested in selling what was on the lot. Waste of time, so I quit seeing dealers.

-Every time they would send me an email, I had a copy/paste response that basically just said what I wanted and what I would pay.

-After emailing back and forth with the dealerships' CRM tools for about 3 months, a general manager called my cell on Valentines day and said "What is it going to take to get you into a vehicle?" I asked if he had read my response to the last dozen emails to his internet department and he had not. He said drive down and they would do the deal. He swore not to jerk me around and honor our phone conversation.

-After work, I drove down to meet with a sales guy who was to write the deal up exactly as I had spoken about. GM was gone for the day and handed this guy a bluebird. Price was $500 higher than what we had agreed on. He apologized and they said they just could not possibly go that low. I gave my best and final offer. I want the exact truck at the price that was promised by your GM WITH set of Husky mats included. GM agreed to new offer, I signed the deal, and gave him $500/ cash. I was at the dealer for a total of 20 minutes.

-4 months later, truck finally arrived and I saw it come off the truck.

Yup. Chevys have done this forever. It's for winter driving in snow etc. If you start in 1, it starts in first. Start in 2, it starts in 2nd. Manual says it's for ice/ snow from what I recall. Start in 3, it starts in first, but cuts out overdrive gear. This was the tow mode before tow mode existed.
