Hard to deny the fact that the iphone is trapped on a crappy network. It's like putting a powerful new audio system in your truck and running it off the stock head unit. It looks good but sounds like shit. Verizon is hard to beat on the size and speed of their network.

Otherwise, I can't comment on the comparison of the two phones (Inc vs Iphone). I'll never own one until it comes to Verizon because a good network is the meat behind the phone.

another question... are all the windows based phones subject to virus problems malware and worms like they used to be? I guess time will tell on the new phones like the incredible but I know the old crackberrys had that issue. (ie all of paris hiltons contacts and personal pics on the web)

App killers also cause you to use MORE battery charge. The phone is programmed to kill apps automatically and does it better than any app killer. If they make you feel better, great. But it's not something you need to use.

Especially since they increase the risk of forced closes and other glitches.

I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.

Both my roommate and I used app killers with no luck. Uninstalled them and we saw at least 25% more battery life.

If you really want to know...READ:
    http://android-developers.blogspot.com/2010/04/multitasking-android-way.html
^ this article explains why you may want to have applications open. Your phone will run faster if the app is used frequently by other apps. If it is force closed, the device has to reopen them every time it want to use it. Many apps use each other to run.

    OR:

The fact that you can see an application's process "running" does not mean the application is running or doing anything. It may simply be there because Android needed it at some point, and has decided that it would be best to keep it around in case it needs it again. Likewise, you may leave an application for a little bit and return to it from where you left off, and during that time Android may have needed to get rid of the process for other things.

So we should all bow to Apple for gracing us with the technology of these great devices? I don't care who developed it...I only care about who's works better.

Let the companies bicker over copyrights and patents. That's not my business.

Yup...I was using Advanced Task Killer and definitely noticed my battery life increase when I stopped using it.

The battery takes a few day to condition. The other thing to check. If you are using the email app to check pop accounts like aim, yahoo... that kind of stuff. I have 4 accounts in it. The app defaults to checking for mail every 5 minutes. I changed it to a more reasonable 1 hour and my battery life increased significantly. The biggest battery drain is all the apps that access the network on a regular basis to update. like the friend stream thing, and weather. Check the frequency of updates on these. Anything that uses the mobile network on a regular basis will kill your battery.

PS. If you change the update frequency in the email app. Make sure to do it for all accounts.

My only bias with apple is the lack of choices.

Steve jobs tells you what your phone should look like

what the OS should look like

Whether you can hack it or not

what apps he feels you should be allowed to have

... .. to me i want to do what i want with my phone.

YOu can change any and everything to do with android and you have lots of android devices to choose from.

Yeah .. that thing is Sick... but.... Sprint... UGH... Verizon will start rolling out its 4g by the end of the year... with their 4g network being as big as their 3g by the end of 2011.... ATT will need to find some new advertising. because 4g will support talk and web at the same time and is way faster than 3g. I don't think ATT even has any plans for 4g. Theyre scrambling to get their 3g network caught up. I think that their biggest fear is that Verizon gets the Iphone and a mass exodus happens.

so your saying if not for the iphone this phone nor any other touch screen phone would exist? So then an arguement that the iphone would not exist if there was no Lg Prada?

2nd who would want to imitate a phone with a crappy os? sure android os uses icons which might be similar to the iphone but i mean common touch screen what are suppose have endless scrolling menus?

oh and the new iphone comes out with fancy video chat and all its glory remember you will actually need a signal for that to work

All I knows played with this phone at work for about 45seconds and in that amount of time.....I was sold. This thing kicks iPhones ass!!! And worth the pricey $600 price tag (without a plan)

c'mon now, whether the IPhone came out or not, phones would have evolved one way or another. Apple just happen to be the first to market it. Think of it this way.....Remember the end of Terminator 2 where they think they stopped Skynet....but in Terminator 3 they realize that they can prevent it in different increments in time but it will evently come to pass.....so back to the phones....if Iphone had not come out, it could have taken a bit longer but all the other companies would have had the phones we have today.

....and the I-tampon....whoever posted that...i thought it was a nice jab at the IPad....c'mon...IPad???? really at least Itablet but Ipad?....haha.

the iphone interface is sooooo simple to use that even my mom can use it. for the younger generation, the htcs might be easy for them to use, but not old fogies. new iphone os will allow folders, multiple apps, better email setup, etc. i hacked my iphone a month after i got it and have been running multiple apps since. the user interface is simple, i kind of like that. just wish it had a little more user input in changing visual settings (that i have done with the hacked phone).

and theres no way currents phones would be where they are TODAY if not for the iphone. we probably wouldn't have seen todays smartphones for another 5+ years i bet. look how long the blackberrys have been out without evolving anything.

theres nothing solid about a BB. I had one for 2 months, couldn't stand it so I got rid of it. there is nothing good about it, but it was hugely popular because everyone thought they needed one and you could email from it.

the bb design is soild one, now if you went from a dumb phone to a bb one might be overwhelmed, or if you didnt utilize push email and merely had one for the cool factor yea whats the point. BB ruled the market up until the design fell back behind the times.

    How and how bad?

I have a Skinomi Screen Protector and Verizon High Gloss silicon cover on my phone. I think it's pretty well protected from scratches now.

It's a great combination too. The Verizon case is very smooth and slides in and out of pockets real smoothly. It also gives you a small lip around the front of the phone so the screen does not touch when its laying face down. It also recesses the camera so it does not touch the table either.

The Skinomi is the same as every other screen protector out there. It protects the screen and still gives you great screen sensitivity.

I ordered both of what you described above. They don't get here until today, so my timing was wonderful. I assume it got scratched in my pocket as I have always babied it. I might have had a coin in my pocket or something.
