Was there any need to do an ecu update on a 2020? About to buy this for my 6/2020 build 2020 Sport and wondering if anything needs to be done via Techstream before installing the tune?

There’s no updates for 20s currently available.

As far as we know, there are no TSBs for 2020s. The ATs have two ECU IDs (calibrations) from the factory. But, no reason has been given.

Ok, I got through all the registration steps (oof that is a pain, but worth it for an awesome product!).

These are the tunes listed in my zip file that I received from Rafael Bautista (and Mathew Wilson) of VFTune:
    Screen Shot 2020-08-18 at 8.50.52 AM.jpg

I am trying to decipher which file I should apply. I run premium fuel (91+ octane) and have the stock gearing and stock tire size. That leaves me with either:

    04B80_Premium_Stock_Thx.p5f
    or
    04B80_Premium_Stock.p5f

What does the Thx label mean?

Thanks in advance - can't wait to try this out today!

For what it's worth, I took my 2020 AT to the dealership for its first service last week. They said there are no TSB's for it. Production date of the truck was October 19th, 2019.

    Thanks for posting.

Both the 2019 MT and AT and the 2020 AT have two ECU IDs (04B40 / 04B41, 04B30 / 04B31, and 04B80 / 04B81, respectively) with no reasoning or TSBs yet. Hopefully someday we will find out.

THX is enhanced throttle. Try each version to see what suits you best.

Here is how @OVTune described it:

I’d start with this file 04B80_Premium_Stock.p5f

Will do thanks gents. Second time I've been called out for not reading the manual first. I searched, I swear guys! :anonymous: :crapstorm:

EDIT: Also, curious how the ECT button will behave with the new tune (not doing the ECT gear lock).

No worries. THX doesn't come up in a search. Enhanced does.

ECT should be like stock on the current tunes that you have. GL was held out for the Final release.

Let us know what you think. I'm 1,200 miles into my 2020 and I don't really have an issue with the way the truck drives so far. However, if it drives a lot better with the tune, I'd have no problem getting it. :)

I came from a V8 8 speed transmission (2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee). By comparison, this truck is wonky in so many ways. It simply doesn't do what it should do when it should do it, IMO. Some of that is related to a lack of power. Some of that is related to throttle mapping. Some of that is related to the transmission. The result is a terrible driving experience.

A simple example: from a stop, I mash the gas pedal. I am going 40mph a block later. It takes that long for the engine to do anything in response to mashing the pedal.

This doesn't even get into feeling the road more, visibility (the mirror blocks most of my view out the right half of the front windshield - I'm 5'11") nor ergonomics (the seat/steering wheel are not as adjustable as the car I came from), but I don't think a TSB nor tune will fix those issues!

The tune should take care of that.

The mirror can be fixed. For the 2020, you will have to modify that part because of the TSS-P gizmos mounted near there. Being able to see dump trucks at 4way stops is worth it though.

I almost ran over a pedestrian on a run in my neighborhood coming from my right blind side. Worth it indeed!

I get the unavoidable issue with thick A pillars. I can deal with those. But, the mirror thing is just crazy.

God bless you @tonered - I didn't even know this existed. I didn't even know the OEM mirror has a double pivot adjustment! F*** me. I need to read more. Is the OEM double pivot available in the 2020's with TSS etc? I could go outside and check but I'm stuck at the computer - stupid job, lol.

    You're welcome!

Yes. The mirror does have double pivots, but the one on the mirror side is oddly restricted compared to the pivot on the windshields side. My mirror has to be touching the overhead console to see properly to the right.
