Oh wow. That's awesome info. Thank you so much. So I think I'll reflash and clear all learned values and go from there.
I'm about to fill up and what do you guys think I should do? Should I try an 87 stock tune for a couple weeks and then go to 91 premium tune?

    You're welcome.

You really can't go wrong. Between Base and SFOB, regular and high octane, you can sharpen or lessen the throttle response. For the first flash, grab whatever and flash whichever. Put a tank or two on and use that as a basis to decide what direction you want to go.

IMHO, 2.0 Base running 87 is the Taco that we should have been given. From there, you're just layering on the fun.

If you have an auto transmission, you might want to try @Mooseditty17 ’s tune in his signature. It has better shift points and better throttle response. In other words it’s a performance tune. The 2.0 tunes are NOT performance tunes.

Ok so last night I did the flash and everything you listed on here on order. Drove it this morning for almost 25 miles and already shifting better than before, I know I still have some more miles to put on so it can learn but so far so good, performance not so much.

There are certainly things that you can feel right away, like you saw. It is just that it takes 500mi to get a full feel for the tune. Both for it too relearn everything and for you to feel it all out.

Those first miles are neat to feel though.

I finally received the tactrix today but when I hook it up to the OBD2 port and click identify, the Toyota flash program just closes. Has anyone else had something similar happen? I also notice that in the instructions in the interface box it says Tactrix INC. ... my interface box is empty. Anyone have any suggestions?

That is your problem. You can either install Flash Manager to install the OVT / Tactrix drivers:
    https://www.ovtuned.com/blogs/news/ovtune-tacoma-flash-manager-overhaul

Or, grab the drivers from tactrix.com.

    FM details:

    Install your REG file.

    From there, do this:

Config / Purge, then Config / Install All Software:

Then, Tuning / Install OVTune Cable Drivers:

    And finally, Help / Update:

Bingo, that was it. I'm not sure if I missed that somewhere or what but thanks so much for the info and speedy reply. Hopefully I'm not to far away from a tune now.

    You're welcome!

It is not jumping out at me from the vF Instructions, so I do not think that you missed anything.

You are very close! Enjoy the tunes!

Also, with your OVT Tactrix cable, you can do the dealer Customizations with TechStream. See the 1st Post in the ECU Update thread for step by step instructions. At the bottom of that post is a link that will show you all of the Customization screens in TS. There are no ECU TSBs published for the 2019s at the moment.

So $500 later I finally joined the popular crowd and bought the vf software and tunes pack on sale! Not sure it will make a huge improvement since I only run regular gas and have an MT but mostly got it for the AGM battery voltage fix. Hoping it comes with a searchable PDF manual that gets updated all the time and lists all of the edits available and what they do so I don't have to find the multiple disparate edits that control the alternator voltage, for example...

Don’t get me wrong... I’m a big fan of OVTune and have been running it for nearly 3 years. But robust documentation hasn’t come out yet.

So, is "OVtune" a separate software program? I couldn't find it on the ovtuned website. I bought the vftune software and tune pack over the weekend, wondering if I need the ovtune program also?

No ..... and no. If you bought the hardware and the tune pack for your ECU ID ...... that's it. ( Unless you want to tune someone's
    truck with a different ECU.

Thanks. I just went on the website and paypal'd the two items. Assume I will be getting an email telling me how to register and access tune files for my ECU at some point today or tomorrow...

BE PATIENT. It may take some days ......

    Have you seen this ? --> https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0885/5830/files/vForest_Tuner_Instructions.pdf?v=1592182954

In the mean time watch / read the forum posts and the instructions.

It can be frustrating ..... if you're in a hurry.
