So I ran the fan all night last night (6-8” of snow overnight) and woke to a bone dry mattress and zero condensation on the ceiling. 100% improvement from last weekend where I experienced the mattress wet underneath from the aluminum frame “sweating”, condensation on the ceiling and tent inside.

Seems like a worthwhile test so far.

I'm sure you've answered this previously, but what fan is this you speak of? Sorry for redundancy.

I basically copied the setup posted above with the fan pointing out the batten on the drivers side.

CD692718-23BF-47AD-B47A-3513C04F65F9.jpg Shittco Awning poles are a great fit. Installed this morning and enjoyed having the tent deployed. Waiting on some time off to get away from it all.

Is this the same one Shittco sells for the GFC or are they specific to X1s?

I think the ones for SP is bigger than GFC, I might be wrong though

Yes they are specific to the X1. The only difference is the block that mounts to the tent. How I know? Because he accidentally sent me GFC blocks so I had to send it back to swap.

How has your gray camper handled direct sun in TX? Does it get pretty hot?

That's the main reason I went with grey because I believe black would have been too hot. So far the temps haven't been too hot in the camper. I guess the real test will be this summer. We picked it up November 2020.

My black SP has consistently been 30° hotter +/- some, especially when in direct sunlight. I’m sure there isn’t much difference with a grey vs black, but I’d love to see someone else keep some data. I have sensor that tracks and keeps the temps, it’s interesting.

I still haven’t taken the jump, but I plan on putting an RV fan in the roof. Similar to how some GFC nerds did it. Didn’t pull the trigger back when I had one, but now that I know I’m keeping the SP forever I’ll order on and make some cuts

Yeah, sorry been mostly away from cell signal.

I had a call with them last week. Hard to resolve without seeing it and I wasn't far away so I stopped in. They think part of the issue is missing corner pieces at the bottom of the tent. Those weren't in stock and will be mailed to me when available. They also thought there could be water intrusion from a new type of gasket they just started using. These are found between the various pieces of extrusion on upper and lower tent frame. Will probably need to be replaced with something else. It hasn't been an issue lately. The water intrusion happened during a period of 3 days of pretty constant rain. After that I had 2 days of on/off moderate rain and now mostly sun for a few days, with no further intrusion. I won't have days of rain like this in Socal/AZ so I'm not too concerned.

What type of sensor/thermometer do you have and I'll start keeping data. Also would like to see the fan mod when you start that. It does get hot in Texas. I know that my daughters black jeep with black hard top would get supper hot in the summer months here.

I use this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08CGM8DC7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8 mainly looked for something that I could access via BT/WiFi on my phone and track it. There are a few options available. I think there was a super coupon or something when I got it. I got it cheap.

That's good to hear! At least it sounds like there's a possible fix in the works, and that they're aware of the issue. With how the frame is fastened, how big of a deal would replacing those gaskets be?

I use the SensorPush app with their sensors, BT and keeps a ton of data. I kept one in my black GFC and one in the truck cab for comparison, the cab was only 10°ish cooler than the GFC. Creating airflow evens it way out, which is why I’ll be venting the SP
