They might be snake oil but they don't do any damage to your truck and the only problem they introduce is clearance on stuff in the bed like a base plate or bed mat that is easily remedied.

Has anyone came across bed stiffeners w/o the tie down points? Where the 90 turn doesn't stick out so far or is completely flat.

sticks out on the side or bed? It sticks out as far because of that mounting points that exist already.

'Snake Oil' is exactly the word I was looking for. As in "Do these actually do anything? Are truck beds weak enough to need stiffeners? Does the fact that using the words 'bed and stiff' in the same sentence makes me giggle make me a 12-year-old-boy?"

This is why I’m not doing them, against popular opinion. They’ll be in the way of the drawer system I’m planning on putting in. I like the idea of extra tie down points though

If I ever saw any deflection in my 4 year old 3rd gen, I’d slap them on right quick for sure though. 3rd camper so far, good amount of off-road use, and no change so far.

Light brackets from @thetjheider, they paired up great with the rock lights from slAmazon. I have 6 red and 6 white, 4 of each on the sides and 2 of each on the back bulkhead.2FACBB22-4BB3-4DE2-A2F2-58965C58813C.jpg0E334833-22EA-4E71-9877-891F0842B6D0.jpg I’ll eventually be putting a full piece of aluminum to span the entirety of the bulkheads, with holes to clear each of the stock rivnuts so it lays flat. I plan to better space the lights out then, but for now they go on the stock rivnuts.

Plenty of clearance between the sleeping platform and the lights.

Awesome, hit him up. Paint on them was meh, but I don’t really care. I had to buy the exact lights he tagged, my other lights were similar but didn’t fit

I’m glad they worked out for you, brother! And I agree with the paint. I used a Tough Coat Mat Black that our customers swear by. We use them to paint our heavy use parts, but I can always upgrade to a chassis paint if preferred. I think for a name like “Tough Coat,” it scuffs fairly easy, but as I stated, our customers swear by it. If there’s a certain brand you prefer, just let me know! Always open to constructive criticism!
Also, people in this thread may not know, I’m a machinist. So I can make any part to your specifications! I just do it off the clock and out of pocket, so response time may vary

Got an email from Josh? today. I have not heard of him, perhaps he is a newer employee. Anyway, he was confirming which Tundra model I had so perhaps there is some light at the end of the tunnel. I am getting really anxious......actually to do anything. Winter has set in. Taking a trip with a new SP would be ultimate.

I dont think those do anything. The beds arent separating at the bottom. They spread towards the top, where there isnt a horizontal part to connect it to anything. Check out @tacoma16 thread where his bed was separating at the top

    Yup.....can see it here

this is the picture where the top of the bedside is pulling away. You can also see if had total chaos gussets which technically did their job. I do believe you have to go behind the tail light and reinforce the light sheet metal.

So you had the total chaos stiffeners on and that still happened?!
