I have stock rims on my 98 Tacoma. I have 31x10.50x15 tires on the truck.

Seems like lately, it has been hard to find this standard tire size.

Am I better off switching to a metric size?

Additionally, I would like to replace the wheels. I want something that is of good quality and basic. Nothing fancy. Only preference would that they need to be black.

    Input is appreciated.

    Thanks!

I recently got some new ProComp 7069 black alloy wheels and Goodyear Workhorse AT 265/75/16 tires.. No complaints so far. My swing out tire carrier even likes that they weigh a LOT less than the old steelies and 285 MTRs I used to run.

Looks like the wheels are even on sale right now at 4wp.

A quick search on tirerack show ~26 options for 31x10.5r15. If you end up going to a metric wheel, you might need to step up in rim size to a 17" rim if you want lots of options.

Good point- where are you shopping that you're unable to find that size? Seeing pretty good brand coverage in that size on discount tire.

I have called two tire shops and they have acted like my tire size is impossible to get. They are giving me limited options.

I have ran the Firestone Destination 2 A/Ts for the past 10 years or so. Love the tire.

I went to Firestones website and can't find that size. They did say I could get the X/T in that size though.

Just get the metric size, it's almost the same if you're not happy with what available.
The closest metric size to 31x10.50R15 is 265/75R15. This metric size indicates a tire diameter of 30.7 inches and width of 10.5 inches. The standard size of the 31x10.50 is 30.5 inches in diameter and 10.5 inches wide.

Problem is, it looks like they don't have the Destination A/T2s in 265/75r15. Only 15in tire tirerack shows is 235/75r15.
