Sick truck, Eventually thats where I am going but with wider tires and rims, Kinda looks like if you take a turn to fast your gonna roll over. I have been there before and it aint fun and that was with 39.5 boggers and 14 inches of lift on a 86 sas.

That's amazing to me because our stock F-150 Super Crew doesn't fit in our garage. We would have to fold in both side mirrors, and remove everything from that side of the garage so we could even open the doors. Even then, the rear bumper is basically touching the back wall, and the front bumper only clears the garage door by a few inches. I thought a 9" lifted Taco would be far out of the question.

Really with the heavy wheels and 75+lb 10ply tires it rides and drives very well to me so far. Luckily for me I live in Florida where it's all flat and most roads are straight as an arrow, lol. I didnt want to go too wide with the wheels or tires because its still a daily driver and Im trying to retain DD gas mileage somewhat, hehe.

I can get horrible i.e less than 10mpg if I drive like I stole it(more often than needed, lol.), but if I keep the rpms under 2k and coast and brake gradually I have gotten 18mpg on a tank and could probably get better if I could break the DILYSI impulse hahha.

Just fyi fellas, garages are not all exactly the same size. Most are built to suit the house they are attached too.

Stock gears for now. It would be nice to know what would be the best gearing for gas mileage. Maybe Chris4x4 or someone knowledgable on the subject could help? It is in my end game plan for this truck just dont know much about gear ratios.

    Here's what I'd do.

(I'm not familiar with Tacoma gearing so...)

My experience is based on 32" tires and 4:56 gears on an XJ, trying to get to a 1:1 crawl for offroad and not have to buzz down the highway at 3.5K RPMs doing 70.

If you're not worried about doing lots of crawling, I'd try to get back to nearly-stock gear ratio using an online gear calculator.

http://www.grimmjeeper.com/gears.html but there are several out there

I was just guessing 4.88s would put you on some better around town mpgs and give you back some grunt. Probably put you under 2K RPM at 65 mph on the road.

    I like the truck!

I'm thinking about doing the same thing to my truck except I'm thinking about getting the extra 3 inches of lift from adding spacers to my 6 inch pro comp.

I'm hoping to run 37's with that set up. Pretty sure I will need to re-gear with tires that size. Not planning on doing any off roading though
