New winch setup on the way

Just got a winch setup for my truck. It’s a warn 106252 low pro bumper (80 pounds) and a smittybuilt xrc 9.5k winch with synthetic line (approx 60 pounds). Already have a pro skid up front. My dedicated trail tires are 255/85/16 Toyo mt, currently with zero rubbing.however I’m slightly concerned with rubbing after adding another 140 pounds up front, so just to play it safe I ordered HS 1/4 inch spacers to raise it back up. I’ll report back when I get all the goodies with pics and install. Another thing I was concerned with on the warm mount was the bull bar interfering with the TSS. The newer 106252 doesn’t have the bar.

 

Finally came. Getting started on install now

 

Install is coming along nicely. Just got to finishing mounting the winch to the bumper and put grill back on and it’s about done after that.

I was really concerned with how much the front was going to drop. I took before and after measurements and the front dropped about 1/2 an inch. Glad I got those HS spacers

Looks great! Are you adding an in cab switch?

Did you have to trim the lower bumper at all?

 

I hadn’t even thought about that. But now that u mention it I just might. It’s a pain having to open the hood and squeeze down there between the grill and line the controller hookup just right

 

I’m about to do the same thing waiting on my lopro bumper to come in to mount the xrc9500 to it. Let me know if you need wiring help as I’m in the process of figuring out myself.

 

Wiring for the winch was pretty straight forward , luckily they had everything labeled, I’m no good with wiring haha

 

Lol the switch gets a little more difficult because you have to modify the remote by cutting off the controller and using those wires for the in cab switch.

I’m not certain this is 100% accurate but this is what I drew up so far.

I finished Bumper and winch installation. Honestly it took longer just fitting the winch into the bumper and figuring out ways to route the wires/mount the solenoid so it would clear the hood latch. I love the way it turned out. My only gripe is the way you have to dig down behind the grill to connect the winch controller. It’s a pain, but it’s not the worst thing in the world. If there’s a way I could maybe get an adapter to come through the bottom of the grill and not have to open hood that would be 100%. The bumpers quality is excellent. I don’t have any other experience with other bumpers but I can tell you this one is great and you can easily return back to stock if so desired because of the very minor trimming that was needed. Another huge bonus is without the tube , it doesn’t interfere with TSS

how much trimming and what?

 

The very bottom lower plastic piece on the bumper on both sides

The little plastic shields behind the grill, I geuss they’re called air dams I’m not sure

and once u take the chin piece off where the license plate is attached too, a little bit there. Not bad at all, I didn’t want something that I’d have to trim a bunch of stuff away.

 

Just finished installing spacers. Brought it back up exactly 1/2 an inch. All is done.

can you get your hand in to engage/disengage free spool?

 

Looks like theres a decent gap over the winch so there should be room to engage and connect controller. Usually these things are designed into the bumper at least from what I've seen.
