I've noticed Yakima has some mounts designed to work with the factory roof mounting points and also recently came out with some different size platform racks. Was planning on getting a Frontrunner roof rack lnl_lifestyle_img1_2.jpg lnl_lifestyle_img2_2.jpg but now I'm thinking about getting one of these. Local USA based company that has parts and supplies readily available and with superb customer service and an expansive dealer network. That alone has me really liking the Yakima system.

    Kinda looks promising. Any thoughts??

I have the new landing pads on my Tacoma using the SkyLine towers and round bars. They have worked perfectly for 2500 miles so far, including a 600 mile road trip.
If you want a roof top tent or something heavy up there I would go with the Prinsu style rack, the Yakima towers only utilize 4 of the 10 factory mounting holes so it's not nearly as strong as Prinsu which uses all 10 mounts.
I bought them because I already had the towers and I like the fact I can take it off the truck in less than 5 minutes if needed.

Good point on the mounting points. Probably not a good idea to run a RTT on one. I’ve got an RLD canopy for that so I’m just looking for a place for our kayaks, water, gas, etc. Looks like it might work for my needs.

Got any pics of your setup?

I have the towers and core bars. I agree with the comments above, it's only one bolt holding the tower down so I wouldn't throw a lot of weight up there. I got them mainly for my 12' paddle board.
Install was really easy and 500 miles so far so good.

Here is my rack with 2 bike rockymounts and a Rola basket. In my basket I have 2 Yakima wheel holders and 2 Ridgid tool boxes for storing tarps, bungees, ropes, and recovery straps.
