Good morning fellas and hope everybody had a great holiday. I wanted my 1995 3.4 to run in tip top shape for this coming new year. I had a list of things to tackle considering it ran okay but not to its full potential. I bought this truck from a man who said he changed and tried a lot of things to make it run right. Most of it bs but for the most part the truck was running pretty good. Had the shakes and according him it’s was a “ghost misfire” he couldn’t figure out. Well, I put redline in the fuel tank and presto, p0300 p0301 p0303 never returned. That being said the issue was the fuel injectors. Would make my idle go from 500 to 650 at idle when truck was nice and warm. According to the previous owner the truck “didn’t like” synthetic oil so it’s been running conventional most of its life from my understanding. That changed, I put in platinum high mileage full synthetic in it with an oem filter. So far no leaks, no issues. These past few days I worked with a mechanic together to change out the semi leaking valve covers with OEM and put brand new motorwest performance fuel injectors. That’s just a few things I replaced. The only thing I wasn’t able to do was clean out the IACV due to the Philip screws on so tight I was afraid of stripping them. Only thing I broke was the brittle 30 year old plastic on the solenoid valve by the PVC which also snapped in half (replaced). I plastic welded and seems to be holding up pretty good. You’ll see my laundry list down below. The truck runs so much better. More power, better throttle response, and over all less shaking. However these pst two days after about every 10 miles the code p0170 pops up. I read on a thread here that the upstream o2 sensor could be the culprit…wife is getting hella mad I’ve been spending so much money on the truck so I don’t want to upset her even more…for the time being anyways. Is this code severe? Can I drive like this for a while? Thanks.

Replaced gaskets with OEM and cleaned throttle. Was not able to loosen the IACV. Got two screws out but the others were on the verge of stripping.

Snapped the PVC valve and the grommet was hard as a rock.

Part of the solenoid snapped and had to plastic weld it. Still holding on as we speak until I get a replacement.

Previous owner also stated he changed out the downstream o2 sensor. That’s too was a lie.

I changed the throttle position sensor with OEM. Been sitting at 11 at idle. Not exactly sure what the correct range is.

Is there even a solid question or statement in here?

Are you still getting a code? Having an issue? Stud (bolt) show and tell? Head shaking around popes? Or is it just the end as we know it?
