From what I've seen of vinyl, they all look great from 20 feet. It's when you get up close you start seeing ugly defects everywhere - even from professional jobs. But I've certainly been tempted to do it as well - as my paint job is slowly turning to shit with each consecutive trip.

Good pics, op. Great color. Follow up with how well it holds up to branches.

It has held up decently so far but I have been careful with it. I no longer force the truck down ATV trails for shits and giggles like I used to. Couple of small tears/areas lifting in areas that were under high tension/stretch during install, that's about it for issues with the vinyl. It patches amazing well though, you don't see the patch work until you are right up on the truck. Even at 5-10 feet you don't notice them unless they're pointed out.

I don't regret it. Paint job would be preferred, but $500 vs $5000 at the time was a no-brainer. Now that I am no longer in Alaska, the truck will get a paint job when the time comes to take the vinyl off.

    I did it.

It ties into the frame at four points and serves as the bed cage for my rear suspension.

i had a sense of that, and why i asked. I'm thinking far ahead into the future for a mid travel custom chassis redo around 100-150k miles and this is possibly part of the idea. thank you.

I realized I stumbled into a 2nd gen thread but here goes. Looks a little purpley at night but it's a good cavalry blue knockoff. I since wrapped the flares black just haven't taken pics.
