A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
NO IT IS NOT!! Put your foot down -- you are the buyer-- show some "balls"!
That depends on the dealer and the salespeople they have working there!!
Also the Tow pkg. is std on all 4x4's for 2018!
Also tell them what YOU want and don't want and if they say anything except " lets see if I can find that -- head for the EXIT door-- also specify the color YOU want--not what they want to sell you-period! My dealer(s) knew within 2 minutes I meant business --they could not find one -- they ordered it -- I waited 7 weeks -- but I got it!!

    This.

Be prepared to walk away from any deal. I always make sure they have what I want before I go look in the first place. It's not hard to find a few in regional inventory then chase down what dealers have the one you want. Then you start with quotes from both and start walking them down in price. Unless you're getting a Pro you should be able to get a great deal.

One note - If you do decide to order and the dealer wants to charge you extra to "special order" a truck you know is locally available, call their BS. If they want to charge for an order, find another dealer. My experience is that dealers well outside metro areas are really pretty good to deal with.

Haggle the shit out of them, if they have a truck you like on the lot, tell them your not paying for the extra bs on it. I literally did that on my 18 trd or with manual trans. Had tech package I didn't want, bunch of dealer add ons I didn't need, mud flaps, tinted windows, etc. They threw a number at my and I just laughed and said uh no. Like above said, your the buyer you take control over it. Not to mention your paying their bills at the end of it. Even got them to swap out tires, goodyear duratracts, i hear how crappy the factory ones are. I paid 35k otd

Thanks everyone for the helpful replies! It's great to know that the '18s with 4wd come standard with the tow package. One less thing to worry about.

I will definitely take you guys' comments about haggling and dealership interactions to heart. In my experience dealers have been reluctant to give me any kind of quote or detail through email, instead insisting I "come on down" to take a look. It sounds like the internet is my friend here and I need to get better about being firm in what I want and also pitting deals against one another. I guess I always assumed that they wouldn't take me seriously as a buyer unless I was there in person.

Their game is to get you on the lot. Once you are there, you are more likely to buy that day. Just tell them you have a busy schedule and you would like to see the numbers before coming down there. The more you stand firm and communicate through e-mail, the less power they have and they do not like that, but, you are the customer and there is more than one dealership you can go to, so ultimately YOU have the power.

I was at the dealership sitting at the desk going back and forth and it came down to the LED bed lights that were port installed. I told them I would not pay full price for that option because it was not something I really wanted, but it came on the truck. They stood tall and said, its only 250 dollars, it won´t even affect your payment. I stood up, I said, look here, I don´t have to buy this truck at all and its not the money, its the principle of the matter that you are forcing an option that I didn´t want, so lets meet halfway and I will pay 125 for it and buy the truck today. He said, sir, there are other guys lined up ready to buy this truck for MSRP, do you want it or not. I didn´t say a word, and got in my car and left. Before I could make it to the interstate he was calling, I didn´t answer. I drove from there to the motorcycle dealership and bought a new bike I had my eye on and do not regret it one bit. For the next week they kept calling and leaving voice mail. That truck that he had guys lined up ready to pay MSRP for sat on the lot for a month after I looked at it. Do not play dealership games and do not let them have control.

You must have a lot of time on your hands to waste time over $125 on a truck.

I have a ‘17 White DCSB TRD OR 4x4 that I brought brand new in Sept and one of the dealers I was working with kept wanting to sell me the truck with the premium package, it was going to be an extra $4000 including tax. No matter how much I said I didn’t want that he kept trying he even told me the truck I wanted didn’t exist.

I went to another dealer for a test drive and turns out the had a manual for me to test drive, I strictly wanted auto, but the exact truck I wanted was being built and expected delivery in 3 weeks. Called up the dealership on the expected delivery date and walked off the lot with it.
