Hi guys.. This is my first post clearly. I have a 2003 xtra cab 4x4 taco, and I'm wanting to do the same thing as every other yota owner which is a lift and bigger tires. I'm looking to clear either 34's or 35's. What is usually necessary to do so ? I have searched and have come up with nothing. Thanks

    to fit 34s or 35s

youre probably going to need to go to a 6' drop bracket lift

your other options involve either converting to solid front axle or cutting a LOT of the sheet metal

i know a guy who was able to fit 35s on his 04 dcab with roughly 4" of lift...but he still had to cut the fenders out pretty good

Fabtech 6" lift would work I believe. Doesnt Skyjacker also make a lift with that kind of clearance?

It will be expensive though most likely...I'm assuming you knew that

Most people with 1st gen Tacomas decide to go with a 3 inch lift as opposed to a large 6 incher, mainly becuase it is a helluva lot easier and cheaper. With the 3 inch lift, you can stuff a set of 33's under the wheel wells, and this looks great. Not shutting you down on the 35 inch tires, just saying that this is a common option with 1st gen owners, and it looks good.
