Hey everyone, Just joined from Seattle after using the "how to" forums here and at other sites like yotatech.com extensively over the last few weeks. I've got a 2004 3.4 TRD, second owner on it. Just recently did the Big 3 wire upgrade and alternator swap with a GM CS144; and hoping to take a break from Taco projects for a while now.

Bought my Taco in 2010 used, put 100,000 miles on it since then. Driven the west coast and taken countless surf trips in it. Most notable experience was when my alternator failed one night on the Washington coast at night in subfreezing weather. Battery dying, truck misfiring, but I had to get to my destination. Drove 50 miles or so in the dark while holding an LED headlamp out the window through a mountain pass and then along a coastal road. Made it to my cabin, replaced the alternator and the truck started right up! Short video here, cheers!

Oh wow, in Mexico of all places. Having that Optima was a blessing for me too and well worth the cost. That trip drained that thing so far that the door locks wouldnt work; it measured less than 5v on the multimeter after. Its fully charged right now and still retains a charge a year later and its 7 years old!
