Completely new to Toyota/Tacoma world. This is my first non full size truck, and I have been searching this forum nightly for ideas. I have a 2014 DCLB 4x4, and I won't be doing any serious off roading or anything like that, but I am wanting a level stance, and to be able to run a slightly larger tire (265/70r17). Every other truck I have had I have always just installed the spacers to the top of the coils/coil overs to get level. I have seen several of those options for this truck, but I also have been looking at the 5100's. Can the 5100 be used with a stock coil, or should i use OME 885's. Like i said i won't be offroading other than maybe dirt roads or something like that, so is the spacer the best bet. I also have the taco lean, so will the 1/4" spacer work with a leveling spacer?

    Thanks
    Lance

    Please be gentle....haha

5100 is better than the spacer. You can also use the 1/4 spacer with the 5100. Stock springs can be used with the 5100. Off road springs will be stiffer than the sport springs.

Im only needing about 2.5 to be level....if i order the 5100 and some OME 885 is there anything else i need besides the 1/4" spacer for the driver side....or would i have enough adjustment in the 5100 with the 885's to compensate without the spacer on the drivers side?

has anyone had experience with the toytec coils on the 5100 with the toytec coils?

The 5100 comes with pre set adjustments, so no 1/4 adjustment. Also, at that height you may need UCAs to correct any alignment issues.

well, since u have a "TRD" double cab long bed, then u have the sport.

this means u can use these linear coils to preload without the roughness of trd offroad coils.

The bonus of the 5100's is that they are supposed to be valved for this preload, and ride better than a traditional spacer due to that.

using aftermarket coils you will NEED the lean spacer or u will lean worse since the stockers are side specific.

at 2.5" ur looking at POSSIBLY needing new upper control arms to keep alignment in spec.

This is why I love forums, get tons of help and suggestions. The truck only has about 1000 miles on it, so im not in a huge hurry figuring it will probably settle some. Just measured again straight up the centerline of the hubs and it has settled some in the rear, only about 1.5" difference now. I think for now I am going to just get some 2" leveling spacers and put the 1/4" lean spacer on also, until I decide if I want to do a full lift or not. Like I said dirt and gravel roads will the be extent of off roading for this truck. Im hoping some good 5100's with coils come up on here in the marketplace, missed out on some the other night, but oh well!!! Got plenty of time for that!!!!
