I was planning on replacing my front strut assembly on my 01 Taco and thought I'd go with a Monroe quickstrut to make things easier for me. checked out a couple videos on YouTube for a step by step process on changing them and it seemed pretty simple just a bit time consuming. Feeling confident in myself I went out to my truck, lifted it and took the wheel off and to my surprise the mounts are different??? The top strut bolts are covered under a thick rubber so I can't really get to them unless there's a way to remove it???

There's two types of suspension models for the first gens. There are 6lugs and 5lugs. You probably watched a video on the opposite yours was.

Did you make sure the video you watched wasn't for a 6lug?
