I guess break in is what it needs...but 700 miles later...kinda annoying. I will take it to work tomorow, 80mile commute each way and see if it continues....Either way Im gonna get it checked out. Every tacoma I see on the road 2011-13 I ask them..and same answer is "no i dont have that problem"

    Mine did the same thing.
The transmission "learns" the way you drive.
If you accellerate hard after you let off the throttle (all the time) the trans will anticipate that and down shift one gear.

You can disconnect the battery for ten minutes, then drive the truck. After you coast gently ease into the throttle. May take 100 or so miles to "leard" your driving habits.

id just deal with it, at least until the second oil change. shit like that will ease up as it gets broken in. also, mine has become considerably LESS noticable since i put larger/heavier tires on, and i can attest to the truck shifting down around 45-48mph, but it doesnt jerk my whole truck, its just a smooth down shift, as any other car ive driven does. just let it break in, and enjoy it in the meantime!

My transmission did the same thing for a while, or I guess I just got used to it. I figured it was just a truck thing.

My '12 doesn't do this. Your not driving in 4th gear are you? I only ask because one time I must of bumped mine over by mistake & didn't notice until I let off the gas & it jerked forward. Luckily I wasn't diving at high speeds & I didn't go far before I noticed.

Bull bar and nerf bars soon.
Is it just when you coast? My 12 does it when I hit the brakes and let off, almost like the down hill function switch is on, only i dont have that.

Mine did the engine brake when new either I got used to it or it stopped. I will check next time I drive it. I also came from a standard so it was really apparent. I will post back.
