Looking to upgrade to some LED's for my 21' trd sport. I'm seeing H11 for lows/H9's for high. When I'm shopping on Amazon it keeps telling me they aren't compatible for the truck.. can somebody confirm these are correct so I can get some lights!! The ones in there now look like projector style, yellow light.

Didn't realize you could run H9 for both. Any benefit to this?

@tclavell is right. The Hikari ultra H11 are known to be the best LED for low beams. The H9 phillips halogens are brighter than the Hikari by a bit but they are not that white color like the LED.
What I did was put the Hikari ultra in the low and leave the h9 high beam in place. So far I'm happy with that.
You can put the Phillips H9 in the low beam with a bit of a mod. The only downsides are it's a more yellow light than LED headlights and the bulbs may not last as long but they are not expensive at all to replace. If you just want good light and the estecics of a more modern looking light just get the Hikari ultra H11 LED headlights for the low beams because that is what most people drive with at night unless you live way out in podunk where one is on the roads at night.

    Nothing yet. Just bought it
It’s my understanding and not sure if I’m 100% correct but I believe H11, H9 and H8 are all the same. You should be able to put H11 in your low beam, high beam and your fog lights in your 21 Tacoma. Please don’t quote me and if I’m wrong please someone fill me in with correct information lol

My understanding is the H11 and H9 will fit the lens housings but there is a small difference in the electrical connectors. I don't recall the exact details of it.

also, if decided to go with H9 in low beams, and like me, don't want to modify the light, the harness below is what i use. It's made of 14awg wire and works very well.

It requires some trimming of the wire connectors and the bulb mount, very easy, takes about 2 minutes to do. You can Google it, or search YouTube for a video.
