Just brought home for the night 2005 4x4 trd sport double cab for to see if I like it and show old lady. It is certified toyota has 83k miles auto 6 cy.
Ok first question how do I tell that it is a trd sport second can I tell on the vin.
Third the previous owner took off stickers. What things should I check out on it before I go back to the war department to neg the price. What would be a fair price high low and medium. It was first purchase in MA but they moved to Ca the following month for it's life now I purchased it in Jacksonville. It's a one owner and help here is much appreicated. I need to know by noon today Sunday when I'm going back.

If the hood has a scoop it should be a sport... oh yeah and 17 in factory wheels.

Did the dealership tell you it's a sport? Sometimes once those stickers get removed dealerships forget what they have. Granted the hood scoop gives it away.

Also check the things listed in the Certified Used rant thread if you get a chance.

go do a burnout out in your new truck, if you leave two skid marks after burnout (like if both rear tires are receiving traction) that means you got the sport since it has a Limited Slip Differential, if you go a locker switch you got off road, and if you hammer on the gas with one tire spinning like tomorrow will never come then your tacoma is stock! Just remember that you can buy the tacoma hood scoop aftermarket!

Just give your insurace agent the VIN. They'll not only tell you about it, they'll let you know the insurance adjustment if you decide to buy it, and what items qualify for insurance discounts.

No, I'm not an insurance agent.
