I decided to become a member of this site tonight. My father had a '77 SR5 when I was a kid and that truck allowed me to learn how to drive a stick shift. Great memories. Back in November, I traded my '13 ram 1500 5.7L for A taco and couldn't be happier! Loved the power that hemi had, but decided to go back to where I started....a 4 banger. I've had one tundra and two tacos in my past. I feel this 2016 SR5 will be one I will keep for a very long time. Since I purchased in November, I've been reading so many threads pertaining to the 2016's. There's so many that like or dislike one thing or another but that's what makes all of want to read more here. So I want to thank all of you guys out there for great info I would've never known and make me appreciate my truck even more. I loved reading about the oil to use, the vast difference in how oil filters are made and how our gutless 2.7's suck, yet others love 'em. How boring would it be if we all loved the same thing! As for my take on everything that's been said and shown here, I believe you all have helped me in deciding what I will use and how I will take care of my taco. I don't remember which member here mentioned using the 303 protectant, but I bought some and put it on all interior
plastic, weatherstripping, even the whole bed liner. I've always rubbed it (armor all) in by hand so it would soak into the plastic and rubber, then later wipe it with a microfiber cloth. But for all of those nooks and crannies you can't get protectant into, I go to the paint dept. at Lowes and buy several sponge paint brushes. They are perfect for detailing if you want your ride to look great.
