That makes sense. It'd be hard deciding which to keep. But the Subaru would be the keeper in my opinion. Due to the AWD for snow if you're not in the truck, and being more roomy for when you have to drive your parents. It'll be hard watching one go I'm sure.

What size truck are you considering? Single, access or double cab?

well i am not sure how to answer that yet. i dont think i need to lift the truck cause the way it sits stock seems to offer me more than ample ground clearance for what i might encounter. just after oggling everyone's trucks, i like the steel front off road bumpers and rear bumpers. i want others people to crush their bumpers when they parallel park near my truck and need to bump their way into a parking spot. extra lights for the front bumper/grille cause the night seems a lot darker and a little extra light would make it easier for me to drive at night. i think there might some basic performance mods like the intake and exhaust. but i will need to study if there is anything similar to cobb accessport for toyota to modify the ecu in order to accomadate the intake and exhaust. if i really want to get crazy maybe add the trd supercharger or something similar.

I have a lot to learn and will be depending on all of you to guide me through the process.

I am leaning towards a access or double cab right now. Either way i want the short bed. I think that might make the overall length more easy to manage.

I feel like i know more about the Subaru and feel more comfortable owning it.

It's funny that as i am typing here the Top Gear episode of James driving up the volcano with the Toyota Hilux is playing on BBC. Now if i could by that truck exactly as it appears in the episode i would be in heaven.

 I'll give you a tip that will save you a lot of time, and keep you from a lot of grief...that search tab will help you a lot. There are a lot of threads created already that might answer a lot of your questions without having to create another thread for the same thing.

Welcome to TW and greetings from Sunny (but sometimes cold) San Diego. I had to throw that in there. Haha. Both are beautiful cars. I'm sure your Tacoma will be just as nice. Already looking forward to seeing your build.

If you keep both cars bone stock the Evo performs better. Maybe its my driving style or something else that i cannot quantify makes me say that the Evo feels better. I recently upgraded the intake and upgraded the Ecu with the Cobb Accessport. This small change made the performance almost equal.
